Do you admit that there is another experiencer? If you admit it, then at the time of grasping blue, it will become one consciousness that looks outward and cognizes blue, and the wisdom that looks inward and only cognizes blue, and so on, it will become endless. If you do not admit it, then the manifest experience of happiness and so on will disappear. If you say that you hold the past, then in the view of those who are without aspects, if the object that appears clearly is not the present, then how does it appear clearly? Therefore, self-cognition is an indispensable term. If you think that the inner wisdom is the wisdom of your own continuum, and it is only that you have generated that wisdom, and you do not need to analyze whether you know yourself or not, then the object of your own wisdom is your own object Pages 601 to 700 because just seeing that object, there is no need to use the term of knowing or not knowing, it will be the same, but you say that this consciousness knows others, which can be seen. If you measure what is called "other-cognition" is like, if it is only experiencing that meaning, and there is nothing else, then it is the same for the inner wisdom, therefore, if you want to use terms without examining or analyzing, then it is meaningless to specifically deny self-cognition. In the terms of the old people of the world, it is also seen that they say that they know their own minds. Therefore, just like a lamp, because it is born with the nature of light, it is an illuminator. It does not need to rely on other causes and conditions, and it can be completely bright by itself. Wherever it lives, it can manifest itself there. Therefore, the lamp is not only the illuminator that illuminates other vases, etc., but also illuminates its own essence, so it is considered. Such terms are consistent with the meaning, and wisdom is also a self-knowing person, because wisdom is contrary to the unclear nature of ignorance, etc., and just by generating clarity, it can manifest both the object and the subject, so it is considered. In reality, the lamp is not illuminated by making the lamp the object, but it is undeniable that the lamp itself does not need to find another illuminator from itself. The fact that one calls oneself bright is also an expression of this meaning, so such terms cannot be denied. Regarding this, according to the translation of the commentary of Lhawang Blo, just like the nature of the illuminator itself, it is the nature of light.

ra. It is desired to make it clear. Like this, I am a wise and intelligent person. That's it. Secondly, if the object of knowledge is a different thing from oneself, then it is difficult to be considered as the felt and the feeler. Because for the formless, there is not even a slight relationship between the object and the subject, so all experiences of the mind will be interrupted. If it is admitted that the combination of object, sense, and consciousness is the cause of the mind, that is also not acceptable. Because if one wants to hold the present object as formless, then the three, sense, object, and consciousness, are simultaneous at that time, and they are not the sole cause of each other. Therefore, this knowledge of the object also transcends the state of dependent arising that arises depending on the sense and the object, and becomes self-generated. If it is said that the combination of object, sense, and consciousness is generated by the power of the previous one, then the present consciousness will become only the form left by the previous thing, and will not focus on that of its own time, so it must be admitted that it has form. If that is the case, how can experiencing blue not be the nature of the mind, but how can the object itself be experienced? Those who accept the causal dependent arising, the followers of Shakya, should think deeply about this, but if they only boast in words, they will not be able to understand the profound dependent arising of words. Thirdly, although the apprehended and the apprehender are non-dual, it is reasonable to appear as two: if the apprehended and the apprehender are not different, then from the wise to the child, they will appear as two, and they will say, "My mind knows this and that," why do they say that the apprehended and the apprehender are different? Although in the ultimate sense, the way the knowable is apprehended and the way the apprehender apprehends are not established as different, but like the hair and double moon seen by those with blurred eyes, they appear as different objects and subjects in the face of knowledge, and they say, "I see such hair," and so on. When the characteristic of distinguishing between the apprehended and the apprehender appears, it is caused by the confusion caused by the habits that have been ingrained since beginningless time. Just as delusion makes the apprehended and the apprehender appear different, on the level of mere appearance, the name of the apprehended as object and the apprehender as subject is established. At that time, the different characteristics of the apprehended and the apprehender are two
