Firstly, it is necessary to ascertain in the manner of six examinations. This has already been explained in common with the mudras, and within that, according to the last examination, one should believe that the deity and mantra are inseparable. That is, in the ultimate sense, all dharmas are without distinction in the expanse of the pure and equal great dharmakaya; in the conventional sense, both the actual body of the deity and the mantra are merely manifestations of wisdom for the sake of taming beings, and one should realize that there is no difference, therefore one should regard the mantra itself as the deity. Secondly, there are three parts. First, eliminating the perception of difference in meaning through the appearance of good and bad in deity and mantra: Thus, the wisdom of the Buddha is capable of appearing in all forms to those to be tamed. That is, there is no difference in the play of the wisdom of one Buddha in the appearance of the actual Buddha to those tamed by the Buddha and the appearance of ordinary beings to those tamed by ordinary beings, just as there is no good or bad in meaning. Here also, the Buddha himself appears in the form of mantra to ordinary beings, and the actual appearance of the deity through the accomplishment of the mantra is also the deity transforming into the mantra, and it should be understood that the granting of siddhis to those to be tamed is merely through the manner of the deity's transformation. Secondly, eliminating the perception of difference in meaning due to different forms: If one thinks that the mantra is different from the deity because it is merely spoken with the mouth and written as letters, and there is no wisdom in it, etc., due to the great difference in aspects, then the mind, in states such as dreams, would also appear in the form of inanimate objects in accordance with the traces of habit, and the appearance of the Buddha's wisdom in various bodies and realms would also become uncollected by mind and wisdom. The appearance of one Buddha as the play of the immeasurable net of illusion, such as peaceful and wrathful forms, would mean that one of these is a deity and the other is not, because of the different forms. Therefore, even though the forms are different, one should know that it does not go beyond the play of wisdom. Thirdly, those who perceive difference in meaning due to the appearance of being included by one's own lineage and another's lineage: Thus, mantra and mudra are dharmas included by one's own lineage, and the deity of wisdom is elsewhere, so if one thinks that these two are different, the nature of all dharmas, union, the tathagatagarbha of the basis, is the union of the state free from adventitious stains.
