Gathering strength, in a way that fulfills all the necessary branches of the path, accomplishing temporary and ultimate benefits easily and quickly like an illusion, this is called the practice of secret mantra. The fourth necessity is: because completely obtaining the desired objects of temporary and ultimate benefit depends on this, it is extremely important. In short, what is called practice is to manifest the meaning established by view, and ultimately attain a stable position. That is, by possessing mandala, samadhi, vows, empowerment, offerings, mantras, and mudras, accomplishing siddhis through diligent conduct, and performing various activities as desired to benefit others, it pervades all objects of learning. Regarding the ultimate meaning, know that all that can be practiced and what is to be practiced are merely self-appearances, and that one's own mind is originally Buddha. For the meaning of not needing to practice, abiding in the state of equal, complete, and spontaneously accomplished, this is the final completion of practice. As it is said in the tantra: From any of the ten directions and four times, one cannot find a complete Buddha. Mind itself is the complete Buddha. Do not seek Buddha from elsewhere. Thus it is said. These explain the occasion for practicing the perfection of diligence. Eighth, regarding offerings, there are four points: essence, classification, the way of offering, and necessity. First, with the distinction of fortunate ones being clear, either gradually or simultaneously, uniting with the realm of Dharma, meditate on the great mudra of offering. Thus it is said. Among them, from the sound of Pūjā, there is what should be generated first, or repeatedly generating joy, or having the meaning of respect. It is the preliminary to all virtuous deeds, or because it is the preliminary to making the deities happy and accomplishing all activities, or the meaning of repeatedly generating joy in a respectful manner. That is, for the objects of offering, with respect through the three doors, with the intention of offering, making them happy through the way of dedicating various outer and inner objects, is the nature of the activity. Second, the classification has the classification of uncommon individual ones, and the explanation of the common assembly wheel, two types. First, in general, there are worldly and transcendental offerings, and

There are superior and unsurpassed offerings, both those actually arranged and those arising from the mind. From the differences in fields and intentional objects, there are common and special offerings. From the perspective of the support, there are those belonging to the inner three gates' lineage, and the two encompassed by external objects and implements. In terms of form, there are three types of offerings: reverence, material, and practice. The outer common offerings are the types suitable for enjoyment in the world, which are widely known as offerings even in the outer tantras and so forth. The inner uncommon special offerings are the mantras. Those belonging to the inner school itself as offerings, supports, fulfillments, and practices. The secret and wondrous offering is offering the five poisons as the five wisdoms, offering appearance and existence as great bliss, which is the view of pure great equality. The practice is to establish appearance and existence as the basis, and the conduct is to accept union and liberation, etc., through the way of spontaneous self-liberation. If all of these are gathered into the category of essence, there are outer enjoyment offerings, inner samaya substance offerings, secret union and liberation offerings, and the suchness great equality offering. First, in the outer offering, there are also seven: hand gestures and dances, praise songs, meditative mind, various desirable qualities, wondrous conducive substances, supreme methods, and offerings based on establishing appearance and existence. Among these, the first also has many forms of hand gestures, such as foot dances, hand gestures, eye gazes, body postures, and dance attitudes. The second also varies in terms of melody, such as Shatapa and others, and in terms of words, it varies into many forms such as urging the mind, praising, praying, generating joy, and offering mantra words. The third is based on reverence, transforming into vast clouds of offerings through meditative concentration, and understanding the absence of inherent existence through wisdom. The fourth includes seven enjoyments and six desirable qualities, specifically including clothing and ornaments, food and drink, utensils, dwellings, places and directions, and wealth. The fifth is the unique offerings and supports of each deity and protector, those famous in the scriptures. The sixth is fire offerings and so forth, because offering based on fire is a method of especially pleasing the deities, therefore it is superior to other offerings.
