Attachment, and in the situation of clinging to oneself and phenomena as true due to this attachment, the power of the mind gives rise to the five poisons. Since all phenomena are pure and the nature of self and phenomena is not established in them, at the time of seeing them as equality, free from all clinging to signs, whatever of the five kinds of wisdom arises is wisdom. For example, when seeing a pleasing object, ordinary people become attached due to clinging to the object and the subject. Ascetics try to reverse the mind of attachment through the means of ugliness, etc. However, here, the thoughts that arise are allowed to arise without being stopped, and when they are grasped by the mind that realizes their very nature, the appearance of object and subject and the experience of bliss do not cease, and experiencing them transparently without any clinging to a target is the arising of desire as discriminating wisdom. Because the object is not stopped, not mixed, but clear and has the aspect of bliss. Similarly, it should be applied to other situations as well. Like this, in mantra, apart from teaching the key points of taking the path, the mere way of being the nature is also taught in the sutras. In the Sutra of the Mudra of Entering into Increasing Faith, it says: "From the nature of the afflictions, there is no other wisdom; the very nature of the afflictions is wisdom." Thus it is said. The five that are not abandoned are the five nectars that are not abandoned. This is because, from the perspective of equality, there is no duality of clean and unclean, therefore it is not something to be abandoned; and because it is pure, it is something to be accepted; because acting without clean and unclean, one experiences equality and overwhelms the thoughts of signs; through the practice of asceticism, one quickly attains accomplishment; and those things that are grasped by skillful means become the nectar of the world; and because they abide as substances in which one's own essence is established, they are to be accepted. Accomplishment arises from acting according to the command, therefore one should not break the offering of nectar at all times. Such practices, if done in a confused manner without realizing the profound meaning, will waste one's own mind-stream through meaningless actions. Once realization has merged into the expanse, then even if one deliberately does it, it is not necessary. Therefore, one should combine one's own experience of realization with it, and rely on it in whatever way is appropriate, in a way that becomes a support for it. It's like learning the art of sword dancing, (which can be used against) wood and lead.

It is just like actually learning the sword step by step. Thus, without these ten branch vows, the extraordinary path of quick attainment, such as transforming afflictions into the path, will not arise. Having accepted it in this way, if the afflictions themselves appear as wisdom, then they become the nature of the origin of the path truth. Moreover, since the aggregates of fruition themselves appear as pure wisdom, suffering also becomes the nature of enlightenment. Therefore, this path is extremely powerful. If one has these branch vows, then relying on them, the profound practices of mantra will also naturally exist in his continuum. If such root and branch vows are elaborated, they will become three hundred and sixty, as explained in other treatises. In short, not deviating from the meaning of great purity and equality is the king of all vows that actually accomplishes Buddhahood. If the order of vows that directly and indirectly benefit it is elaborated, it is immeasurable. Because in order to subdue the various conceptualizations of sentient beings, there are various orders of vows. Third, the essence of these points is that the vows of the Great Means Mantra Vehicle include all the precepts and vows of the Hearer and Bodhisattva, and become much purer than the conduct of the lower vehicles. That is to say, let alone the commonly agreed upon practices, even those practices that seem to contradict the lower vehicles are not only not contradictory, but are even more superior. For example, in the case of the Hearer Vehicle, there are four root downfalls from the perspective of the ultimate completeness of the object, intention, and action. The Hearer Vehicle is merely abandoning harm to others, while the Bodhisattva engages in benefiting others on top of that. Therefore, a Bodhisattva, without the defilement of self-interest, and with the thought of compassion, even if he engages in impure conduct and so on, not only has no fault, but also gains merit. However, if one is driven by attachment to self-interest, praising oneself and disparaging others, being stingy and not giving away wealth and Dharma, etc., then it is considered a downfall. In the Mantra Vehicle, since the view of equality has become a certainty, there is no grasping of object and subject. Therefore, in actions that appear to be killing and so on, there is not even a little bit of the ultimate completeness of the object, intention, and action of ordinary people. With the actions of wisdom and skillful means, one accomplishes the two benefits merely in conventionality.
