Relying on one deity and one mandala, the Vajra brothers who have jointly received empowerment and instructions should not sever the bond of affection that accompanies them until enlightenment. Abandoning from the heart, etc., are root downfalls. In general, spiritual friends are explained as four types: all sentient beings are gathered by one Sugata-garbha, so they are general spiritual friends; all who have entered the Buddha's teachings are distant spiritual friends; those who share the same view and conduct are close spiritual friends; those who have jointly received empowerment are intimate spiritual friends. Furthermore, on top of those four, adding that the guru is the same makes them beautiful spiritual friends, and jointly listening to the Dharma makes them close spiritual friends, so they are also explained as six. Towards all, one should not abandon the mind of loving-kindness. Fifth, one should not speak for the sake of secret matters. Not speaking of secrets means that knowingly speaking to others who are not vessels for speech, about the profound view and conduct of mantra, and the faults of the mantra-holder guru and spiritual siblings, etc., which should not be spoken about. Regarding that, in general, there are four secrets: the profound view and firm conduct of mantra, and the names and forms of deities, and the signs of accomplishment, should not be spoken meaninglessly at any time. The four intermediate secrets are that the place, time, companions, and materials for practice must be kept secret until the practice is completed. What should be kept secret is that in order to avoid others developing disbelief or harming accomplishment, the pledge substances and implements of mantra should be hidden and used. What is entrusted to be kept secret is whatever the guru and spiritual siblings have said, "Please keep it secret." From whom should these be kept secret? From those who have broken their vows, those who have not received empowerment, and those who do not have faith, they should be kept secret as appropriate through the three doors of body, speech, and mind. Therefore, the mind abiding in the supreme meaning, the speech reciting mantras, and the body possessing mudras are the vows for accomplishing special qualities. These three are also what is to be accomplished, and all the precepts of mantra are also gathered there in essence. The other three are the vows to protect against doing what is not to be done, which become the companions of the former ones, that is, abandoning or protecting against things that contradict the guru's mind, etc. Alternatively, honoring the guru, who is the source of accomplishment, is also included in the vows to accomplish, and accomplishing his satisfaction is the basis of the first two. These five are like the roots of a tree, the basis of all the qualities of mantra.

It is so. Each of those five also enters through the gates of body, speech, and mind, so there are aspects of the vows of body, speech, and mind, and the aspects of guarding and practicing are also easy to distinguish. Secondly, ignorance, desire, and hatred, as well as pride and jealousy, are not abandoned. White offerings, red offerings, fragrant meat offerings, pure vessel water is not discarded. As it is said, these five poisons are considered by the Shravakas to be abandoned, by the Bodhisattvas to be purified, and by the Mantrayana to be used as the path, so that they are increasingly not confused and are superior by means of skillful means. So why are the five poisons not abandoned? In the ultimate truth, the substance to be abandoned is not established, just as the water of a mirage does not need a dam. In the conventional truth, if it is grasped by skillful means, it will become a companion on the path, just as poison turns into nectar. In the ultimate meaning, it is originally pure, equal, and great, because of the realization of Buddhahood, just like recognizing a relative who was mistaken for an enemy. The meaning of the former and latter two has been explained. The way in which grasping with skillful means becomes a companion on the path is, as it is said in the Paramita Vehicle, relying on afflictions to perfect the accumulations, such as the merit of giving the body being greater than giving wealth, those are all due to being particularly attached to the body, and so on. There are also causes for accomplishing vast virtuous deeds, such as Bodhisattvas who have not received empowerment, in order not to abandon the afflictions of desire, being born into desire, thereby perfecting the accumulations, and so on. There is also the transformation of one's own nature into virtue by grasping with skillful means, such as a Bodhisattva abiding on the stage of aspiration and conduct, by the power of compassion, in order to fulfill the wishes of a woman afflicted by desire, deliberately generating desire, generating desire and experiencing the bliss of joy and feeling satisfied. That is desire, but because it is grasped by compassionate skillful means, it is virtue. Likewise, other afflictions should also be applied accordingly. And in this Mantra Vehicle, the five afflictions are the Tathagata lineage, and if skillful means are used as the path, then wisdom arises from them, and realizing that nature transforms into the nature of wisdom, with these three points it is established that they are not abandoned. First, desire is the aspect of the mind desiring and accepting an object, such power
