Once it is recognized that it is inherently so, and therefore cannot be abandoned, a firm grasp arises, which has two aspects. For the latter, there is no turning back, as this certainty can prevent entering inferior paths and the like. Therefore, one who possesses such a view is called Vajradhara, because he holds the suchness of mantra, like a vajra, in his own continuum, and possesses the power to destroy all the downfalls of samsara and nirvana. One also does not abandon the ultimate bodhicitta, because one holds the ultimate truth, the purity, equality, truth, and non-duality of reality. One also does not abandon the relative bodhicitta, because one does not give up the intention and effort to attain Buddhahood in order to save all sentient beings from suffering, which is the relative bodhicitta. Here, having seen that Buddhahood, which constantly pervades for the benefit of limitless sentient beings, will definitely be attained, all the defilements of inferior paths, such as turning away from that, discouragement, and disgust with samsara, are completely eliminated. As it is said in the tantra: "I and limitless sentient beings, are inherently Buddhas, in the nature of knowing that, I generate the supreme bodhicitta." Similarly, those who think that the result, Buddhahood, is initially attained only by the power of the causal path, even if they generate bodhicitta, they may abandon it due to thoughts of clinging to self-interest and weariness of samsara, and discouragement. Because like this, it is possible to create obstacles to the cause, and if the cause is not complete, like a sprout from a rotten seed, Buddhahood cannot be attained, so they think that it depends entirely on their own power. Moreover, since one's own mind is easily influenced by conditions, one can only try to strengthen the vow of bodhicitta, but ordinary people cannot obtain the confidence to never give up in any situation. However, here, since one is not confused about how to generate relative and ultimate bodhicitta, therefore, in a way that it is impossible to abandon relative bodhicitta, even ordinary people can obtain very firm confidence, therefore, it is shown that the first practitioner who enters the suchness of mantra has the same destiny as a non-returning bodhisattva. Like that

The suchness of the unsurpassable mantra is the deity of the meaning of dharmata. All the deities that appear as symbolic mudras of that very nature are established through this gate without being abandoned. Therefore, if the lifeblood of all samayas and meditations is held by this view, it will become completely undiminished and purified. Thus, if there is a view that has become a firm conviction in the suchness of mantra, the meaning of the unsurpassable, then it is impossible for the root to be damaged from the essential point. However, the way those who enter mantra through faith abandon the unsurpassable is: if they do not believe in the profound view, the meaning of equality and non-duality, and the firm conduct of mantra that is in accordance with it, and turn their backs on it, they will fall, as the fourteen root downfalls are taught. Furthermore, regarding the meaning of the purity of the vessel and its contents as deities, thinking that this is only taught for the purpose of guiding disciples, but in reality it is not pure, and doubting, and regarding the meaning of equality as having a sign of focus, and holding it as not being great equality, these two root downfalls are turning away from the view of mantra. Therefore, since it is extremely contradictory to the arising of the suchness of mantra in one's own mindstream, it is a root downfall. Creating suffering for the aggregates, not accepting samaya substances, abandoning bodhicitta like kunda, reviling women, and not liberating those who should be liberated are contradictory to the extraordinary conduct of mantra. Therefore, if one turns one's back on these things that should be accepted with an attitude of eternal disbelief, one will cut off the opportunity to practice these profound mantra practices oneself, so it is a root downfall. The remaining root downfalls are established by relying on the teacher who directly shows oneself the profound meaning of mantra, and the vajra brothers and sisters who hold the meaning of mantra, and the sentient beings who are to be tamed by mantra, and the secrecy for the sake of not wasting the mantra lineage, and the words of the Buddhas and the words of the teacher who directly or indirectly show the meaning of mantra, and the various philosophical tenets that appear for the purpose of distinguishing the various boundaries of mantra. Because of the connection with the mantra itself, which is excellent in view and conduct, those objects also become important in that way. If they are not cherished, then it is established as a root downfall in order not to diminish the mantra.
