che. It is said as such. Those who instill wisdom into the continuum, possessing supreme power, reaching the other shore of power, are taught during the empowerment. Sixth, regarding vows. Essence, divisions, their key points, necessity. First, in the supreme unsurpassed vow: The discipline of the empowerment of taming, All vows, as many as are inconceivable, Are completely gathered and purified without remainder. It is said, from the sound of "Samaya," the vow is the meaning of that which should not be transgressed. That is, whatever is prescribed by the great self-masters, and learned by the yoga masters, not exceeding that place, properly performing acceptance and rejection. Second, divided into two: common and specific. First, in brief, the vows of mantra can be summarized into three: common, special, and surpassing vows. The common vow is the discipline of individual liberation, the training of a Bodhisattva, and the vows spoken of in outer tantra, because they are not to be transgressed without need, so they are also the basis or limb of the unsurpassed mantra vow, therefore they are also called common vows. The special vows are the root and branch vows spoken of in the unsurpassed mantra itself. Furthermore, common refers to the vows of individual liberation, Bodhisattva, and mantra, which are to be protected by all individuals, so they are common. Yogis, according to the level of their intelligence, in their respective states, protect by combining view, conduct, activities, etc., with their own experiences, which is uncommon, and is to be protected by each individual, so it is also called a special vow. The surpassing vow is that which is specifically emphasized beyond the daily protection during the time of great practice, such as not destroying the body of a lion, etc. Second, from other tantras, there are fourteen root downfalls, eight coarse branch downfalls, and also the order of vows of each tantra, with various classifications and summaries. But here, it is said that there are five roots and ten branches, totaling fifteen. This way is the ultimate key point of all secret mantra vows, Therefore, knowing this way, and not transgressing it, is not breaking the vow, so it is very important to know and protect its key points. Among them, the five root vows are: not abandoning the unsurpassed, and respecting the guru.

And, to continuously maintain mantras and mudras, to have loving-kindness towards those who have entered the right path, and not to reveal secret meanings to those who are not vessels, these are the five. The ten branches refer to not abandoning the five poisons and accepting the five ambrosias. Among these, the first is not abandoning the unsurpassed. The term 'unsurpassed' refers to the ultimate reality of all phenomena, which is the great Dharmakaya, pure, equal, true, and undifferentiated. It is unsurpassed because there is no path or result higher than realizing and attaining it. Therefore, one should have unwavering faith in it and not abandon it. If one does not abandon it, then the Three Jewels and the relative and ultimate Bodhicitta will also not be abandoned in their essence. Because the one who manifests the reality of the Dharma-nature as it is, is the Buddha, and the one who realizes it appropriately is the Sangha. If one has faith in the unsurpassed and does not abandon it, then it is impossible to abandon the noble ones, the Vidyadharas, and the Buddhas who have seen it, as well as the Dharma that exists in their mindstreams. Therefore, in terms of Dharma-nature, it also encompasses the Three Jewels of the ground, path, and result. At the time of the ground, the mind-essence of sentient beings abides in the nature of Buddhahood, and the Dharma, like the sun and its rays, exists inseparably from it, abiding in the wheel of speech and letters. Because of possessing such Dharma-nature, sentient beings become fields for accumulating merit, and therefore become the Sangha, the Three Jewels. Furthermore, the three doors of the path, the essence of body, speech, and mind, are primordially enlightened. The generation and completion stages of the path are the Dharma, and practicing it is the Sangha, the Three Jewels of the path. Moreover, the Buddha who has perfected the path, the Dharma he taught, and the Sangha who practice it, are the well-known Three Jewels. When one attains Buddhahood, the Thubpa (Shakyamuni Buddha) possesses the Dharmakaya and is the ultimate teacher, therefore they are the three refuges of the result. Thus, all the Three Jewels of the ground, path, and result manifest without difference from the same nature of purity, equality, truth, and undifferentiation, and are the Three Jewels of the meaning of reality, because everything is equally perfected in it. Therefore, holding onto the unsurpassed is holding onto everything. Even if one has not found the way to hold onto it, one should hold onto it with faith as stated in the scriptures, and have faith in the meaning of the view.
