Because this measure can be established very well. This measure of pure wisdom arises from the power of reason of the inconceivable nature of reality, so it is extremely powerful and never deceives, it is transcendent, pure, supreme and incomparable. Therefore, establishing the common teacher as a measure, etc., those that can be established from the path of direct perception are established by the former; the uncommon, inconceivable realm of the Tathagata, etc., are to be established by the latter in a way that follows the nature of reality. In this way, the profound meanings such as all dharmas being enlightened from the beginning are not established solely by direct perception, nor is there no measure of establishment at all, one must be skilled in the key points. If one does not understand this principle, it is like the difference in how outsiders free from attachment and the four noble ones see sentient beings, the wrong knowledge increases more and more, and the difference of seeing better and better cannot be established; also, like the seed of liberation in the continuum of the householder Endowed with Glory, seen by the Buddha but not seen by the Arhat, for those that the lower ones do not know but the higher ones know, one cannot distinguish good from bad; the sutra says: On the tip of a single hair, there are countless inconceivable fields, various shapes are also different, but those are not mixed together. One will not gain trust in what is taught, etc. Therefore, in both sutra and tantra, this point is very important. Second, if purity is established from the power of the measure that examines the ultimate truth, like this, impurity is nothing other than the appearance included in suffering and origin. The appearances that are united with the sphere empty of the two selves, etc., because they are not at all established as the nature and object of afflictions such as self-grasping, and the nature of karma and suffering produced by those afflictions, therefore, the impurity included in suffering and origin does not even have a name, but abides as naturally pure. Moreover, since there is no dharma that does not become the nature of emptiness, great equality, all appearances and existences are established as being primordially great purity. The way of purity here is the emptiness of the non-establishment of dharmas.

It is not merely saying that it is pure in every aspect, but because it is inseparable from emptiness, whatever appears is also primordially pure, which is shown as Samantabhadra's Great Bliss. Second, regarding establishing the possessor as wisdom: For the philosophical schools that do not accept external objects as commonly seen, but assert that all phenomena are merely self-appearances of the mind, the way to establish great purity is as follows: For example, in the mind, due to the habituation of various conceptual thoughts of grasping and holding, the power of the habitual tendencies increases, resulting in the appearance of various impure appearances of the six realms; in the stage of the path that is free from perversion, pure appearances appear; and in the stage of fruition when all obscurations are exhausted, infinite pure appearances arise. All of these are merely self-appearances of one's own mind, and there is nothing else besides that. However, the mind that is the basis of all of these is empty of the two selves, is luminous, and merely abides as the uninterrupted arising of various appearances. If the mind's grasping does not accord with the true nature, but grasps at self and grasper and grasped, then afflictions arise; from this, karma arises, and these karmas lead to various dreamlike appearances included in the truth of suffering, which are illusions, not actually existing, unstable, and deceptive. By practicing the path in accordance with the nature of the mind, gradually eliminating the illusory parts of self-appearance, then pure appearances will flawlessly arise, because they are irreversible, non-deceptive, and in accordance with reality. Therefore, only the self-appearance in mere conventional terms is a flawless appearance. So, the appearance of illusion is untrue, while the pure appearance is true because it is free from corruption. For example, the element of gold comes from earth and iron, and the water gold of Jambudvipa, etc.; while the element of mercury comes from coal, water, and medicine, etc. When various elements are mixed together, it becomes like a lump of butter gold. Although various elements are not visible in the objects of the senses such as the eyes, it is also known in the objects of consciousness that various elements exist. For this, confused people cling to lumps of butter and ghee, and some only see that it turns into gold when it comes into contact with fire, and think that it is a raw material of gold. But wise people think that it has various elements and can appear similar to whatever conditions it encounters. Like that
