Because it is said that there is no birth, no death, and it is inconceivable, therefore, in order to attain omniscience, Bodhisattvas should meditate on all dharmas without dependence, not abiding in form. Similarly, do not abide in feeling, perception, volition, consciousness, and the realms of earth, etc., and the realms of eye, etc. It is said, therefore, not thinking of anything is the path to Buddhahood, while the arising of thoughts of attachment and detachment, etc., is samsara. By being free from samsara and entering into non-thought, one can become a Buddha. If one thinks and discriminates, one cannot become a Buddha. Therefore, merely thinking that not thinking of anything is the wisdom of the path to Buddhahood is the place where the unwise fall into great ignorance and great transgression. If one could become a Buddha by not having the wisdom of thought, then why wouldn't all sentient beings who are sound asleep become Buddhas? Because at that time, they have no thoughts of attachment or detachment. Therefore, merely not thinking of anything, without the higher seeing that sees the reality of things, without understanding the truth of things, and randomly not thinking of anything, how can one become a Buddha? Buddhas are those who have perfected the two accumulations and have thoroughly understood the truth of all things. And not thinking of anything, one cannot perfect the two accumulations, nor can one see the truth of things, so this wrong path becomes the greatest obstacle on the path to Buddhahood, and one cannot even approach the path to Buddhahood. Here, the samadhis such as the Jewel Lamp, etc., spoken of by the Bhagavan in the chapter on samadhi in the Prajnaparamita Sutra, are very clear in meaning in their respective contexts, and are characterized by the appearance of self-awareness. Because it is not the emptiness of inanimate objects, not something that does not exist, it is not without thought. If there is no thought, it is like the darkness of not thinking or knowing anything. The immeasurable dharanis and samadhi gates of the Tathagatas and Bodhisattvas are like the appearance of self-luminous wisdom, which is free from the cloud-like obscurations of clinging to the object of things, like the daytime, how can there be no thought? If becoming

If the self-cognizant wisdom of all phenomena is self-luminous, then why is it said that all phenomena are without self-nature? Your grasping of the meaning of selflessness as utter emptiness is a great mistake. The wisdom of the Tathagata realizes that all phenomena are without self-nature, not established by their own essence, but that all things become characteristics that are invisible and non-existent in that wisdom, like the mind in deep sleep. As it is said in the Prajnaparamita Sutra, "Whatever mind there is, that mind is not a mind." If this mind is examined, it is not established by its own self-nature. Therefore, there is no mind in the mind, and the self-nature of the mind is luminosity. It is as it is said. At this time, it is very important to distinguish the meaning of the words of the yoga that does not pay attention to anything, the words of no object, so to briefly state its key points: Wanting to realize the inconceivable suchness of the Dharma nature that is free from all four extremes of clinging, one must generate a correct understanding of the meaning of the reality of all phenomena, the inseparability of truth, non-proliferation, and inconceivability, through the three paths of the scriptures of definitive meaning, the ultimate reasoning, and the oral instructions of the lama who possesses the vision of wisdom. Then, like the sun shining, the Dharma nature of all phenomena must be manifested by the non-discriminating wisdom of each self-cognizance. If one does not have such key points, but only arbitrarily thinks of nothing, and thinks that this is the supreme path, and only relies on the words "suchness transcends thought and speech," and thinks that one should not pay attention to existence or non-existence, etc., like this, one does not need to listen, think, and meditate on how to manifest suchness by each self-cognizance. This idea is like the meditation of the Chinese monks of the past, which is a great mistake. As it is said in the Sutra of the Gathering of Intentions, "Inconceivable and unknowable, whoever abides in a state of non-thought, this child is a fool, and will become a birthplace of darkness." As it is said, even if one abides for hundreds of kalpas without paying attention to anything like this, there will be no certainty about what the reality of things is, and one will only enter the abyss of darkness.
