那时，有一位名为萨嘎（Sāga）的贤臣对国王说：‘大医师啊！你可知道这个道理吗？这极为容易。用白色或黑色的细纱织成的绸缎缠在蛇的尾巴上，如果蛇尾被触及，它便立刻无法忍受，会表现出雄性与雌性的不同反应。’又说：‘在南方有些商人运载檀香树，却不知它的根端与梢端所在；若将它投入水池之中，其根必会沉入水底。’ 国王为了测试谁能真正辨识宝珠，便在宫殿的高楼顶上悬挂起一面宝幡，在其下方置一池水，将宝珠的形像与光辉投射于水面之上，然后说道：‘谁能分辨出真正的宝珠，就赐予他上等的布施。’但其他大臣进入水池却不能取到宝珠。 萨嘎说道：‘殿上高楼的宝幡顶上悬挂的宝珠，其影像虽然映照在水中，但真正的宝珠仍在幡顶，应当从幡顶取宝珠。’大家按照他说的做，果然得到了真正的宝珠，于是众人都称赞萨嘎的聪慧。 此后，萨嘎相貌英俊端正，六位大臣见之，都起了以金银财宝诱之共处的念头，却未能得逞。 他们多次议论说：‘萨嘎啊，大医师！在你们的国中，曾否有年少美貌的女子为他人所诱骗之事？’ 大医师回答说：‘这是世间常理，一切男子皆为女子而勤作奉献，然而若女子自身聪慧，则他人也无法欺骗她。’ 萨嘎又问：‘王子，如果对这样的女子施以调戏或欺侮，是否会有危险？’ 大医师答道：‘当谨慎行事。’ 于是萨嘎说道：‘你就写下一张契约文书吧！’ 大医师便佯作病态，派仆人说：‘此人已染重疾，须渐渐调理方可。’并令他常着寻常衣服，坐卧于林中。 萨嘎对六位大臣说道：‘这位大医师已病体羸弱，并且此刻来到此地，未被外人识得。’

At that time, a wise minister named Saga said to the king: “Great physician, do you know this principle? It is quite simple. If one ties a strip of fine white or black silk to the tail of a snake and touches the tail, the snake will immediately react, showing whether it is male or female.” He also said: “In the south there are merchants who carry sandalwood trees but do not know which is the root and which is the top. If they throw it into a pond, the root will sink downward.” The king, wishing to test who could truly recognize the real jewel, hung a precious banner at the top of a high palace and placed a pond beneath it. He projected the image and light of the jewel into the water and declared: “Whoever can identify the true jewel will be granted a noble offering.” Yet other ministers entered the pond but could not take the jewel. Saga said: “The jewel is actually at the top of the banner on the high palace. Although its reflection appears in the water, the true jewel must be taken from the banner’s top.” Everyone followed his instruction and indeed obtained the real jewel, and all praised Saga’s wisdom. Afterward, Saga, being handsome and of fine appearance, was seen by six ministers who thought to tempt him with gold and silver wealth in order to keep his company, but they failed. They often said to each other: “Saga, great physician, in your land has it ever happened that a young and beautiful woman was deceived by another man?” The physician replied: “This is the nature of the world; all men strive for the sake of women. Yet if a woman herself is wise, she cannot be deceived.” Saga then asked: “Prince, if one tries to tease or insult such a woman, would it be dangerous?” The physician answered: “Be cautious in your conduct.” Saga then said: “Write down a deed as a record.” The physician feigned illness and sent his servant, saying: “This man has fallen ill and needs gradual treatment.” He disguised himself in ordinary clothing and sat in the woods. Saga told the six ministers: “This great physician is now weak from illness and has come here unrecognized by others.”

如是做了六个大箱子放置。每到一定时候，那些人到来，剃掉头发并捆绑起来，放入每个箱子中。第二天，大声宣告“大医师逝世”，妃嫔眷属和大多数民众都哭了。萨嘎将六个箱子带到国王生主的面前，说道：“神圣的大医师已经去世，那些由他亲自盖章的财产、黄金和珠宝等都在这里。”国王哀叹道：“他今天去世，今天就献上这些。” 当时，大医师自己用鲜花装饰，从另一个地方来到国王面前，行礼后说道：“神圣的主人，您从未慈爱地接过任何伞盖，今天您要接受斯杜姆巴国王的吗？即使我不拿走，您也会从我家拿走。”萨嘎又说道：“伟大的国王，大医师已经从这里前往另一个世界，这些是他的珍宝，请您接受。伟大的国王，我是个寡妇，与家庭分离，受到轻视，我的财产被夺走。” 之后，大医师也展示了大臣们卓越的智慧。国王生主看到箱子里剃光头发、蜷缩着手脚的六个大臣，笑着说道：“大医师，这是谁的主意？”她完整地说是萨嘎的主意。国王心想：“唉，女人的智慧竟然这样戏弄这些大臣”，感到非常高兴，并大大地尊敬了她。整个国家都传扬着农夫的女儿萨嘎的奇妙智慧。 之后，国王心想：“大医师有福报，找到了这样一位聪明贤惠、有智慧的妻子。”并对大医师说道：“如果你高兴的话，我也娶一个这样有智慧的妻子，那么家庭和朝政都能安稳。”大医师说道：“从哪里寻找呢？”国王说道：“五取的国王的女儿，名叫药女，容貌端庄，有智慧和记忆。”

Having done this, six large boxes were made and placed. From time to time, those people came, had their hair shaved and tied up, and were placed in each box. The next day, it was loudly proclaimed, "The great physician has passed away," and the concubines and most of the people wept. Saga carried the six boxes to the presence of King Kyedpa, saying, "The divine great physician has passed away, and these are the possessions, gold, and jewels, etc., that he himself sealed." The king lamented, "He died today, and these are offered today." At that time, the great physician himself, adorned with flowers, came from another place to the king's presence, bowed, and said, "Divine lord, you have never lovingly taken any parasols, will you accept King Stumba's today? Even if I don't take it, you will take it from my house." Saga also said, "Great king, the great physician has gone from here to another world, these are his treasures, please accept them. Great king, I am a widow, separated from my family, and despised, my property is being taken away." After that, the great physician also demonstrated the excellent wisdom of the ministers. King Kyedpa, seeing the six ministers in the box with shaved hair, curled up hands and feet, laughed and said, "Great physician, whose idea is this?" She fully said it was Saga's idea. The king thought, "Alas, the wisdom of a woman has tricked these ministers in this way," and was very pleased and greatly respected her. Throughout the country, the wonderful wisdom of Saga, the farmer's daughter, was proclaimed. After that, the king thought, "The great physician is fortunate to have found such a wise and intelligent wife." And he said to the great physician, "If you are happy, I will also marry such a wise wife, then the family and the affairs of state will be stable." The great physician said, "Where to look for one?" The king said, "The daughter of the king of Five Acquisitions, named Medicine Woman, is beautiful in appearance, and has wisdom and memory."
