Likewise, abiding on the earth as such, in immeasurable and inconceivable eons, it should be known that immeasurable manifestations of meditation and samadhi have been fully enjoyed. The chapter on meditation is complete. Furthermore, in the past, in this Jambudvipa, there was a great king named Kundagowo, who had five hundred sons. Later, his great queen gave birth to a son, with a golden body, dark blue hair, and a thousand-spoked wheel marked on the palms of his hands. On the sole of his left foot was the image of a horse, and on the sole of his right foot was the image of an elephant. He was born with merit and named Mirror Face. Then, that king was afflicted by illness and nearing the time of his death. The ministers asked, "Among these sons, whom shall we appoint as the successor to the throne? To whom shall we entrust the power of the kingdom?" The king said, "To whomever possesses these ten characteristics, entrust the power of the kingdom. What are the ten characteristics? A golden body with dark blue hair, the palms of both hands marked with a thousand-spoked wheel, the image of an elephant on the sole of the right foot, the image of a horse on the sole of the left foot, wearing the king's robes that fit the body, neither too big nor too small, sitting on the throne with great splendor and power, the lesser kings showing great respect and service, the queen and the sons also being happy and paying homage to him, when led before the images of the gods, the gods also paying homage to him, and by the power of virtue and merit, raining down a shower of the seven precious jewels, satisfying all, and being born of the great queen, these are the ten. Also, entrust the kingdom to one who knows these six examinations, such as the external treasures." Having spoken thus, he passed away. Then the princes and ministers gathered together, and from the eldest prince to the five hundredth prince, they examined who possessed the ten virtues. However, in all the other princes, they did not see even one of those virtues, but in the youngest prince, all ten virtues were complete. Moreover, the other princes were fierce, biased, and harsh.

He is gentle and extremely docile; all profound questions he discerns and knows by his own wisdom. The king possesses the six treasures including the outer treasure, and is said to be the king endowed with six treasures. Others, not knowing this, see only the mirror-like surface: the ‘outer treasure’ lies outside the steps; the ‘inner treasure’ lies within the steps; the ‘inner-outer treasure’ lies beneath the steps. The ‘tree-top treasure’ is the treasure under the shade of the tree in which the king resides, which spreads at midday. The ‘mountain-top treasure’ is the treasure beneath the bathing stone in the pool where the king plays. The ‘riverbank treasure’ is the treasure at the end of the drain where the household water flows. The ministers examined each and found it so, and thus invested the king with power. On the fifteenth day at sunrise, a golden wheel of a thousand and a half yojanas came from the east. To this it was said: If I become a virtuous king, may this wheel approach near before me. And it approached from the direction of the sky. The elephant treasure came from the mountain of fragrances, its trunk adorned with jewels. If the king rides it, in half a day he can circle the four continents; if he goes on foot, wherever his feet touch turns into gold dust. The horse treasure is dark-blue with reddish mane, raining seven precious substances. Riding it, the king can circle the four continents within one meal without fatigue. The jewel treasure shines day and night, illuminating up to 120 yojanas, manifesting by its light and raining down seven precious things to give to all. The woman treasure is virtuous and beautiful, satisfying the king’s heart. The householder treasure can supply the king at will with seven precious things, inexhaustibly. The minister treasure is such that when the king divides his fourfold army, with just a glance he can assemble the troops, endowed with power and skill.
