Please do, saying that you regret not being satisfied with the five qualities of desire. Even if a rain of Karshapanas falls, there is no satisfaction with desires. The wise see desire as small and know that there is much suffering, and even with the desires of the gods, there is no joy. Furthermore, the Shravakas of the perfectly enlightened Buddha rejoice in the exhaustion of craving. Even if it becomes a mountain of gold equal to the snowy mountains, one's jewels cannot be satisfied by it. The wise should understand it in this way. How can one who understands suffering through this basis rejoice in desires? Having realized that worldly wealth is the root of suffering, relying on it, one should learn in order to tame it. These verses were also spoken. Then, King Ngalenu gave immeasurable offerings and spoke these verses: Knowing that the next world is fearful and life is short, one should do good deeds, and not doing good deeds will lead to suffering. Therefore, desiring to do good deeds, if one gives alms properly, then in this world and the next, giving alms will bring joy. When the people of the village and the villagers heard that King Ngalenu was aging and nearing death, hundreds of thousands of beings came to see. The king told those people about the faults of desire, the faults of being a householder, and the disparagement of desire, so many hundreds of thousands of beings abandoned their homes and went forth into the forest as hermits, practicing the four Brahmaviharas, and being free from attachment to desire, they were born in the Brahma world. Thus, King Ngalenu, from playing in his youth to dwelling in the Thirty-Three Heavens, during that time, one hundred and fourteen Indras died and were reborn. The lifespan of each Indra is that one hundred human years is one day for the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens. Thirty days is a month, twelve months is a year, and the gods can live for a thousand years. If counted in human years, it is thirty-six billion years, which is the lifespan of one Indra. If the lifespan of one hundred and fourteen Indras is counted in human years, it is four trillion.

There are one hundred thousand and one hundred million and four million, in that time, I (Ngalenu) enjoyed the desires of gods and humans, and the time was very long. In some versions of the Vinaya, there are some textual errors such as eighty-four Indras. Similarly, in this chapter of the Jataka, there are some slight differences, it should be known that this was written by comparing the extensive and concise Sutra Pitaka. The first of the thirty-six Indras, the one who gave half of his seat to me (Ngalenu) was the Bhikshu Kashyapa. When King I (Ngalenu) thought that this Indra originated from here and I would rule the kingdom, that Indra was the Buddha Kashyapa. Because of generating malice towards a being who was said to be very powerful, he declined from wealth, came to the human world, suffered from a serious illness, and experienced unbearable pain close to death. At that time, I (Ngalenu) was the Bhagavan. The reason why I (Ngalenu) obtained the result of ruling the four continents and the heavenly realms was because in the past, when the Tathagata Vipashyin appeared in the world, when he was begging for alms in the palace of the king's relatives, a grain merchant saw the Buddha and felt that he could not get enough of seeing him, so he grabbed a handful of green beans and scattered them, four beans fell into the bowl, one hit the edge of the bowl, and one landed on the top of his head, so he obtained the result of enjoying happiness for a long time in the four continents and the heavenly realms. In his palace, it rained gold and other things for seven consecutive days, this was because when the Tathagata All-Conqueror appeared in the world, a merchant's son lived there not long after getting married. According to the local custom, not long after marrying the bride, the dowry was sent to the husband's house, that bride was decorated with flowers made of four kinds of jewels, and then sent to the husband's house, and he also took her back to his own home. That merchant's son, holding flowers made of jewels, rode on a mount, and on the way home, saw the Buddha coming to wander, he saw the marks of that great man and felt that he could not get enough of seeing them.
