Going to the mountains, are you willing to cut grass and eat wild fruits? There are also wind and hail, cold and heat, stones and gravel, snakes, etc., can you endure those? Mande said: What do I do with soft clothes and sweet food, etc.? I can't bear to be separated from you, I like to be with you. I rely on the prince and be your friend. The prince said: I like to give alms, and I cannot refuse the mind of begging. Even if someone begs for my son or you, I cannot refuse to give. If you hinder my good deeds, you should not go. Mande said: If you, Prince, give alms, I will also rejoice, and even if I give my life, I will not regret it, please do not hesitate. The prince said: If you can do that, that would be great. So, taking the queen and two children, he said goodbye to his mother. The mother asked the king: Use the white Dharma, use the words of national peace to advise. The mother was in pain because of grief, and said: If I am separated from my only beloved son, what is the use of my heart being as hard as a diamond? If the gods do not go against my wishes, my son, may you return to your homeland. At that time, Queen Ni Qu presented the prince with a string of pearl necklaces, and four thousand ministers presented the prince with a lotus flower made of seven treasures each. The prince walked out of the palace, went to the north gate of the city, and gave all the flowers and necklaces to the gathered people. Tens of thousands of people in that country saw the prince off, thinking: This person is very kind, like the guardian deity of the country, why abandon him? Everyone felt regret. The prince comforted the people who were seeing him off and asked them to go back. Then, the prince himself drove the chariot and went far away. While resting under a tree, he met a Brahmin.

The queen said to the prince, having traveled such a long way, I am very tired, is it okay to stay here now? The prince said, my father the king commanded me to go to Ritantik. If we stay here, we will be disobeying the king's command, and I will not be a filial son. Having said that, they left. As they went on, they reached the foot of Mount Ritantik, where they encountered a deep river that was difficult to cross. The queen said, let's stay here until the river recedes. The prince said, my father the king said to go to Ritantik, so we cannot stay here. As he entered into the samadhi of loving-kindness, a great mountain appeared from the river, cutting off the flow of water. There, the prince and the queen took off their clothes and waded across the river. As soon as they crossed the river, the prince thought: if I leave, this floodwater will drown many sentient beings. So he turned back to the river and said: River, flow as you did before, and if I have any wishes, please let me be liberated. As soon as he said this, the river flowed as before.
