He fell to the ground and fainted. All the villagers were filled with grief. They said, "Sinful one, what harm would there be if you went with your brother?" When Prince Gedun was residing, he raised a swan. The king tied a letter to the swan's neck and sent it to find Gedun. The swan flew and searched everywhere, and upon hearing the prince's voice in the garden, it landed there and met the prince. The prince also knew the swan's voice, so he untied the letter from its neck and had it read. The letter detailed the story of how the sinful one had inserted thorns into his eyes and fled, and so on. At that time, King Lishibara had a daughter who was rare in the world, and she went to that garden. She saw Gedun with tangled hair, his face covered in tears, and wearing ragged clothes, sitting under a tree. The daughter fell in love with him and did not go anywhere, but sat beside him and talked to him. When dawn arrived, the king called for his daughter, but she said, "Please bring my food here; I will not come back." So the food was brought there. The daughter said to the prince, "Let's eat together." The prince said, "I am a blind beggar, and it is not proper for me to eat with the king's daughter. If the king hears of it, I will be in trouble." The daughter said, "If you do not eat with me, I will not eat either." She repeated this many times, and then they ate together. They talked pleasantly, and the daughter fell in love with him and could not bear to leave. When the sun set, the king sent for his daughter to return, and the daughter replied, "I am happy to be the wife of this garden keeper, and I do not seek anyone else." She also said, "Father King, please do not change my mind." When the king heard this, he did not change his daughter's mind, thinking, "This is truly a wonder! This daughter, who should be betrothed to a king wearing precious armor, prefers such a beggar as her husband until the prince returns from the ocean. This shames my lineage, and I cannot even lift my head." He repeatedly sent for her to return, but the daughter did not change her previous mind and could not leave. After that, the king, out of love for his daughter, did not change her mind.
