Endowed with excellent Bodhicitta, cultivate the awareness of great compassion. Because of the self-nature being unfindable and luminous, cultivate non-attachment to anything. The mind is the cause of the arising of wisdom. Do not seek the Buddha elsewhere! As it is said, first, representing one's own death, to the extent of the sky, like this, clinging to impermanence as permanence and to the suffering of samsara as happiness, focusing on all sentient beings who die and transmigrate in samsara and endlessly experience various sufferings, generate the mind of great compassion. In order to liberate all those beings from the suffering of birth, aging, sickness, and death, and to place them in the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, may I become the protector of the three realms, the Buddha Bhagavan, and thus liberate all sentient beings from all suffering. Thinking like this, cultivate the compassionate awareness endowed with the mind of enlightenment. Similarly, all phenomena represented by death, when examined, are of an empty nature, but due to one's own conceptualization, they are merely imputed, thus causing happiness and suffering, benefit and harm. In reality, there is no such thing as death and suffering. One should determine and contemplate that all phenomena are without substance. Similarly, although these phenomena such as death do not establish any essence, the appearance is like an illusion, without ceasing any appearance. When examined, it cannot be expressed in any extreme of existence or non-existence. Because it is naturally unfindable and luminous, it does not abide in anything, whether it is a thing or unfindable. In the nature of one's own mind, which is primordially luminous, in the direct awareness of the present moment, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana become equal. Therefore, the heart of the teacher, Shakyamuni Buddha, and one's own mind are also determined to be inseparable in the wisdom of the self-arisen mind. Without straying from this, when firmness and certainty arise in it, it is the realization of the true nature of one's own mind. There is nothing else called Buddha other than that. However, in such a meaning, there is no birth or death. Death and so on are merely conceptualizations. The nature of mind, free from conceptualization, in the primordial meaning, there is no establishment of birth or death. If one abides in that state and transmigrates, then in the bardo

Without arising delusions, one will be born in the Buddha's realm. If one does not have such certainty, then at the time of death and in the bardo, if one does not forget the lama, the Lord Shakyamuni, by that alone one will breathe in a pure realm. Furthermore, whatever fears and sufferings arise in this life, if one remembers the Buddha, one will surely be liberated from that adversity. Whatever happiness and goodness arise, know that it is due to the compassion of the Buddha, and visualize those objects of happiness as clouds of Samantabhadra's offerings, and offer them to the Buddha. Always contemplate the meaning of the three liberations and the six perfections, etc., that arise from the Teacher's teachings. With great compassion, generate the supreme bodhicitta for all sentient beings, and train as much as possible in the conduct of a bodhisattva. Thus, remembering the Teacher is extremely important, for remembering the Buddha is the beginning of all the paths of a bodhisattva, and it has immeasurable benefits, and it generates all the qualities of the path. Nowadays, although each school mainly focuses on recitation and meditation, there is less and less clinging to the Teacher, Lord Shakyamuni. However, those who enter this teaching without a supreme faith in the Teacher will not become wise. Why is that? Because it is only by relying on the compassion of the Teacher who manifested the deeds of a Buddha for us degenerate beings in this realm and time, that this teaching has the three pitakas, and not only that, but even the secret mantra Vajrayana teachings, which are the path to manifest the union that one cannot learn in a short lifetime in a degenerate age, have arisen. And because of that, the holders of the teachings who have entered the sutra and tantra teachings, and the noble sangha of enlightened beings, have arisen in such great numbers. If the Teacher himself had not spread the light of the teachings in this realm and time, we would not even hear the sound of the Three Jewels, let alone practice the paths of sutra and tantra. Therefore, whatever practice one does according to the traditions of the old and new schools, one should always have a particularly strong faith in the Teacher.
