Furthermore, the non-attachment of the outsiders, knowing the outflows of desire, knowing that all things are not real like the images in a mirror, manifested the five superknowledges and placed immeasurable beings in such forbearance. Again, the sage Udraka and Ramaputra, who had great magical powers, power and splendor, thought, "What is superior and more abundant than these dharmas that I have realized?" He thought, "Those realizations of mine are the dharmas of cessation. Whatever dharma does not cease is the most abundant. Whatever is born is the dharma of cessation, and whatever is not born is without cessation. When I think, 'What is unborn?' When all dharmas are not born by their very nature, they are separate from their very nature,' he attained forbearance in the meaning of non-birth by properly examining each one, and placed immeasurable beings in it. Furthermore, the sage Lhaktong Chöpa, who was a great outsider of non-attachment and great magical power, when he examined the cause and nature of the arising of the outflows of desire, he realized selflessness and also attained the five superknowledges and placed immeasurable beings in that forbearance. Furthermore, when he became the son of the chief, Chandana, he thought, "In this way, even if one holds on to something that clings to the path or nirvana, one cannot manifest enlightenment. Therefore, one should not be attached to knowing the path to go everywhere. Just as one relies on a boat to go to the other shore and then abandons the boat, after attaining perfect enlightenment, one should also abandon the notion of taking it there in knowing the path to go to the other shore. Just as one sees all dharmas as being devoid of self-nature in an inexhaustible way, all dharmas will be seen as boats." Having realized this, he taught such a method and accomplished the meaning of immeasurable beings. Likewise, in order to know that all the outflows of existence arise, by properly examining, the right path arises, such as the sage who delights in existence, and the sage who pacifies existence, and so on, taking birth many times, generating the right path with wisdom, and making others irreversible. It is said in the Sutra of Expanding Wisdom.

Just like that. Furthermore, in a past life, when he was born as a sage named Righteous Wise One, he had mastered all the scriptures, understood all meanings, possessed great magical powers and splendor, and was free from attachment through the paths of other non-Buddhists. At that time, his lifespan was ninety thousand years. For eighty thousand years, he never rested his chest on the ground, nor did he ever become drowsy or fall asleep. He wondered, "Where do these sufferings come from?" They are not from anything other than the power of ignorance. It is through the power of ignorance that samsara continues. If one knows and sees, samsara will cease." As he contemplated in this way, eighty billion gods from the Pure Abode realms, dwelling in the sky above, spoke these words three times: "O lion, great lion! Sentient being lion, without fear! Lion, thinking various thoughts! The guide will become a lion! Dwelling in this sky, Are eighty billion gods! When the fearless lion roars, They join their palms and pay homage! In all the Buddha-fields of the ten directions, In all the immeasurable places, You send forth the light of wisdom, You purify all the realms! The great elephant king, intelligent, Difficult to subdue, difficult to approach, Is the guide of all sentient beings, The supreme among two-legged beings, becomes the best! Just as those Buddhas of the past, The guide manifested perfect enlightenment, Because you possess the ability to guide, The supreme person will attain enlightenment!" At that time, he remained in equanimity, thinking, "How much will this reveal?" To this, the gods of the Pure Abodes said, "Friend, your light illuminates the Buddha-fields of the ten directions, which are beyond description." Having heard this, he gained such power of virtue that he rose to the height of seven tala trees in the sky. In the ten directions, he saw some Buddhas being born, and similarly, some Buddhas taking steps, renouncing, attaining enlightenment, turning the wheel of Dharma, relinquishing their life force, and passing into complete nirvana without remainder. Having heard the Buddhas teaching the Dharma, he said to the gods of the Pure Abodes, "Friends, the samsara of the past!"
