A high platform was built, and donations were given to all people as they wished, so that everyone became wealthy and without poverty, and the king's fame spread throughout the country. All the people also relied on the power of virtue, the seasons were harmonious, the gods rained on time, various grains and flowers grew luxuriantly, all lands were filled with glory, medicines were nutritious, beings were without disease, their faces were radiant, happy, and without fear of foreign armies, etc., as in a perfect age. Everyone was satisfied and praised the king. At that time, a minister said to the king: If you always pay attention to the needs of the best, the middle, and the worst, then the wisdom of the rulers will become more and more brilliant. This is well said. Just like this, in the presence of the gods, there was no disaster of livestock dying, and through religious offerings and donations, the subjects were benefited in this life and the next. All disasters and poverty were pacified, and the subjects relied on you and had good fortune, and so on. Like this, good and wise people cannot be deceived by being induced to do bad things. Those who are skilled in using methods, even if they tend towards the side of evil, will be led into the path of virtue, and one should respect the wonders of doing great deeds for both oneself and others. Also, in the past, in the place of རྡོ་འཇོག་ (place name to be verified), there was a Brahmin named Moon Fame, who had a son named Sun and Moon. The matter was like this: an old Brahmin was abandoned by his son and wife, and a maidservant sought medicine for him and cured him, so he gave the maidservant five hundred karshapanas, intending to free her from slavery. That maidservant very much wanted to play with him, and that maidservant made love with him when she was menstruating, so she became pregnant. The Brahmin's former wife, out of jealousy, beat the maidservant and gave her bad food. That maidservant thought: This unfortunate being is in my womb, and I am eating and wearing badly and being beaten, I might as well throw him away, so she put the child in a copper pot and intended to throw him away. The Brahmin Moon Fame saw it and asked her what had happened. She told the story. The Brahmin said: This is my child, I will

Having said this, he spoke harshly to the Brahmin woman: "This maidservant has healed the one you and your son abandoned from illness. It is good to provide her with what she needs. Otherwise, let her be the mistress of the house, and you be her maidservant." She was frightened and promised not to quarrel anymore, and named the child Cholzangpa. The Brahmin was very fond of that child, because when the Brahmin was dying, he said to his eldest son Nida, "After I die, provide for this younger brother Cholzangpa." Having said this, he passed away. Once, when Nida and Cholzangpa were eating together, his mother despised him because he was the son of a maidservant. Cholzangpa asked his mother, and the mother said, "People enjoy the fruits of their own karma, who is whose slave? Son, go to another place and learn knowledge." He went to another place and changed his name to Moon Serene. Hearing that there was a Brahmin priest in Shravasti, he went to him. The priest asked him where he came from, etc., and when he asked about the Brahmin Moon Fame, the child cried and said, "That was my father, he has passed away." The priest said, "That was my childhood friend, marry him." So he taught him the Vedas, and he learned the four Vedas, and the priest gave him his daughter adorned with all kinds of ornaments and a lot of wealth. He became famous and wealthy, and a stonemason merchant came to Shravasti and went to visit him, recognized him, but said nothing. The merchant returned and told Nida about this, and Nida happily told his mother, who said, "The son of a maidservant will not become a respected person." Soon, Nida's wealth decreased, and his mother said, "Go to your brother and share some wealth." The son said, "He was the son of a maidservant before, how can he become a younger brother now? Son, even so, go and do not refuse his giving." The mother insisted, so he went to Shravasti. Moon Serene heard about it, welcomed him, and gave him food. He said, "My name is Moon Serene, do not call me Cholzangpa." He did the same. After returning home, he said to the Brahmin woman, "This is my older brother Nida, treat him well."
