The king said: "I have heard that the daughter of the King of Five Acquisitions, named Medicine Woman, is beautiful, intelligent, and has a good memory, like Saga. Go and get her." The great minister said: "We must devise a plan for this. That king is known as an adversary, second only to the gods." Then the king sent a messenger to ask for the daughter's hand in marriage. The King of Five Acquisitions consulted with his ministers and agreed to give her temporarily, saying, "Come on this day." He prepared various foods mixed with poison. The great minister said to the king: "We must first consult the gods for the sake of the king's prosperity." The king asked who should be sent to consult. The great minister said: "I have a parrot named 'Clear Speech,' who is very intelligent. Let us send him." So he sent the parrot. The parrot wondered whom to approach and talk to. Not seeing anyone, he entered the palace and went to a female monkey sitting between the pillars. After exchanging greetings, he said: "I am the guardian of the garden of King Shibi in the north. I had a lovely wife, a female monkey, but she was stolen. I wander everywhere in sorrow and have come here. Would you be my wife?" The female monkey said: "A parrot's wife is a parrot, I have never heard of a female monkey being one." Then they spoke affectionately and played happily, and the parrot asked, "Can I have some of these various foods that are being prepared?" The monkey replied, "These foods are mixed with poison." The parrot said, "Is it true that the daughter of the King of Five Acquisitions is being given to King Increase?" The female monkey said: "He is not giving her sincerely, but is trying to kill him with trickery." After hearing this, the parrot and the female monkey spoke gently to each other, and the parrot told the great minister everything. Since even fighting would not be effective, he thought of using a divisive tactic. So, the king of Lnga-len sent various gifts to five hundred ministers, causing division. Once the division was complete, King Skyed-pa sent a messenger to the king of Lnga-len, saying, "It is not that I cannot attack you, but because you and I are related, and you are my father-in-law, I will not attack you. However, you should consider very carefully whether you will live in my hands or die. Even if we are capable, we will not attack you. If you have any doubts, you can examine whether these gifts were sent to such and such ministers." The ministers were seized along with the gifts, and that night the king of Lnga-len returned to his own country, killed the five hundred ministers, and installed their sons as ministers. When King Skyed-pa heard the news that "this is true," he was delighted. The great physician also heard this and was pleased, thinking, "Will I get that daughter or not?" So he went with a host of troops to the country of the king of Lnga-lan. The king said, "Come into the city." He said, "I will stay in this garden. If I must come inside, I will go to the house of such and such a minister." The king of Lnga-len was uneasy, thinking, "Why does he say this? Does he intend to divide me and the ministers?" So he sent back the message, "If you like, stay there." The ministers deliberated and said, "All that our fathers have lost is due to the great physician's wisdom. We should remember the old grudges and urge the king to keep him here and not let him go back." They said to the king, "All this is the work of that great physician, and King Skyed-pa cannot harm the other side. So while he is here, we will go to King Skyed-pa and defeat him." The king also said, "Good." So he went with four divisions of troops to the palace of King Skyed-pa. King Skyed-pa prepared for war.
