To eliminate the negative effects of greed, the supreme request of non-anger was made. Indra (བརྒྱ་བྱིན་) was pleased and praised, wanting to grant the highest boon. The Bodhisattva said: I request not to see, hear, associate with children, nor experience the suffering of associating with them. Indra said: Children are objects of compassion, why do you, who are compassionate, not want to see them? The Bodhisattva said: In any case, it is difficult to help children, because they are attached to improper behavior and indulge in it. They do not conform to the principles of taming and uprightness, and even if help is given, they become confused. They are arrogant, ignorant, cunning, and lazy, and even if they are worthy of compassion, they know that they are not suitable for receiving help, so they do not even want to see them. Indra praised these well-spoken words, filled his palms with flowers, bowed and said he would grant the highest boon. The Bodhisattva said: I request to see, hear, associate with stable people, and have the joy of speaking and confidence. Indra said: You like stable people, what is the reason? The Bodhisattva said: Stable people walk on the path of merit and also lead others onto that path. They do not have harsh words and are helpful. They have no deception, adorn themselves with taming, and are suitable for receiving beneficial guidance, therefore I like them. Indra praised him and said: Because you are good at expressing yourself, please make the highest request for the beneficial path. The Bodhisattva said: You have eliminated the danger of food running out, your mind is also in harmony with the joy of giving, beggars adorn themselves with pure discipline, if I have these, I make the highest request. Indra said: Here too you have spoken well, you have become a source of jewels. Furthermore, everything you have requested will be as you wish. For this well-spoken word, I also offer you the highest boon. The Bodhisattva said: You, who are the chief of all the gods, if you grant me help, then I request that you do not appear openly before me in the future, you, who are the destroyer of the Asuras.

Was exhorted. After saying this, Indra, feeling surprised and ashamed, said: If for a while you wish that those who recite and practice asceticism would follow me, I have come wanting to give you something excellent, why do you not want to see me like this? The Bodhisattva said: This is not an act of disrespect, nor is it disrespect, nor is it unwillingness to meet you, but because seeing a supreme deity like you, if I dwell in noise, although you are peaceful and pure, I fear that my asceticism will decline. After saying this, Indra prostrated to him and circumambulated him, and then disappeared. Then, when it dawned, the Bodhisattva saw the divine food prepared by Indra, and the hundreds of Pratyekabuddhas invited by Indra, and the many young sons of the gods who were preparing to make offerings, and he made offerings to those great sages. Like this, even though dwelling in the ascetic grove, being fond of generosity becomes an adornment. Like this, if one is not attached to food and does not want to see even the lord of the gods, what need is there to mention other gatherings? Like this, one should know that meditation is accomplished by being fond of solitude away from noise. Again, in a previous life, when the Blessed One himself was born as the son of a great and wealthy king, the king's previous sons had all died young, and thinking that they were harmed by non-humans, in order to protect this son, he was placed in an iron house decorated with jewels, and through the protective and auspicious rituals from the Vedas, he survived, and was therefore named Iron House Dweller. When he was born, the people of that place felt happy, possessed pleasing appearances, and virtues such as compassion and intelligence, making everyone very satisfied, and by the power of merit, like the wealth of the gods, they indulged in great festivities. During the lotus flower festival, he rode in a beautiful chariot adorned with jewels and various silk decorations and banners, drawn by excellent horses, wearing gorgeous clothes and ornaments, accompanied by numerous attendants.
