ཏོག་བརྡུངས་པའི་སྒྲས་དུས་བསྟན་ཏེ་སླར་འགྲོའོ། །དྲང་སྲོང་དེ་དག་བཟླས་བརྗོད་དང་སྦྱིན་སྲེག་གི་ཆོ་ག་བྱས་ཟིན་ནས། རྒན་རིམ་གྱིས་རེ་རེ་ནས་སོང་སྟེ་པདྨའི་རྩ་བ་དེ་གོ་རིམ་བཞིན་དུ་བླངས་ནས་སོ་སོའི་སྤྱིལ་བོར་ཆོ་ག་བཞིན་དུ་ཟོས་ཏེ་བསམ་གཏན་ལ་བརྩོན་པ་ལ་བློས་གནས་སོ། །དེ་དག་ཆོས་ཉན་པའི་དུས་མ་གཏོགས་པར་གཅིག་ལ་གཅིག་བལྟར་མི་འདོང་ངོ་། །དེ་དག་དེ་ལྟར་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་དང་སྤྱོད་ཚུལ་དེ་ལྟ་བུས་རབ་ཏུ་དབེན་པའི་དགའ་བ་དང་བསམ་གཏན་ལ་གཞོལ་བས་གྲགས་པ་ཆེར་གྱུར་པ་ལྷའི་དབང་པོ་བརྒྱ་བྱིན་གྱིས་ཐོས་ནས་དེ་བརྟག་པའི་ཕྱིར་སོང་བ་ན་དེ་དག་གི་ཚུལ་དེ་ལྟ་བུ་མཐོང་ནས། པདྨའི་རྩ་བ་གླང་པོ་ཆེའི་ཕྲུ་གུའི་མཆེ་བ་ལྟར་དཀར་བའི་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་སྐལ་བ་དེ་བྲན་མོ་སླར་སོང་བའི་རྗེས་སུ་མི་སྣང་བར་བྱས་སོ། །བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་དེར་སོང་བ་ན་དང་པོའི་གནས་དེ་ན་པདྨའི་རྩ་བ་མེད་ལ། པདྨའི་ལོ་མ་རྒྱན་འཁྲུགས་ཤིང་འདུག་པ་མཐོང་ནས་བདག་གི་པདྨའི་རྩ་བའི་སྐལ་པ་གཅིག་གིས་ཁྱེར་རོ་སྙམ་དུ། ཁོང་ཁྲོ་ཞིང་སེམས་འཁྲུགས་པ་མེད་པར་སླར་ལོག་སྟེ་ཤིང་ལོའི་སྤྱིལ་བུར་བསམ་གཏན་ཚུལ་བཞིན་བྱས་སོ། །དྲང་སྲོང་གཞན་རྣམས་ལ་སྙིང་མི་དགའ་བར་འགྱུར་དུ་འོང་སྙམ་ནས་མ་སྨྲས་སོ། །ནུ་བོ་གཞན་གྱིས་འདིས་རང་གི་སྐལ་བ་བླངས་ཟིན་ནོ་སྙམ་ནས། རང་རང་གི་སྐལ་བ་བླངས་ཏེ་སྤྱིལ་བོར་ཟ་ཞིང་བསམ་གཏན་བྱེད་དོ། །དེ་བཞིན་དུ་ཞག་གཉིས་པ་དང་། གསུམ་པ་དང་། བཞི་པ་དང་། ལྔ་པའི་བར་དུ་ཡང་དེའི་སྐལ་བ་མི་སྣང་བར་བྱས་ཀྱང་སེམས་རབ་ཏུ་འཁྲུགས་པ་མེད་པར་རབ་ཏུ་ཞིའོ། །ཕྱི་དྲོའི་དུས་སུ་དྲང་སྲོང་དེ་དག་དེའི་དྲུང་དུ་ཆོས་ཉན་པར་གོ་རིམ་བཞིན་ལྷགས་པ་དང་། དེའི་ལུས་རིད་ཅིང་འགྲམ་པ་དང་མིག་ནི་ཀོང་། བཞིན་མདངས་ངན་ཞིང་སྐད་གདངས་ཆུང་ལ་ལུས་ཉམ་དམས་ཀྱང་། བརྟན་པ་རབ་ཏུ་ཞི་བའི་ཡོན་ཏན་རྒྱས་པར་མཐོང་ནས་འདི་ཅི་ནོངས་ཞེས་དྲིས་པ་ལ་ཇི་ལྟར་གྱུར་པ་བསྙད་དོ། །དེ་ནས་དཀའ་ཐུབ་ཅན་དེ་དག་གིས་འདི་ལྟ་བུའི་ཆོས་མ་ཡིན་པ་མི་སྲིད་དོ་སྙམ་ནས། མི་དགའ་ཞིང་མཚར་བྱས་སོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་དེ་མགོ་སྨད་ཅིང་ངོ་ཚ་བས་འཁོད་དོ། །ཤེས་པ་འཇུག་པའི་ཡུལ་ བརྒྱ་བྱིན་གྱིས་མཐུས་བསྒྲིབས་པས་ཅི་ལས་གྱུར་པ་ཡང་མ་ཤེས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་ནུ་བོ་འོག་མས་རང་གི་ཡིད་ལ་གཅགས་པ་མེད་པ་བདག་ཉིད་གཙང་བར་བསྟན་པའི་ཕྱིར་མནའ་ཁྱད་པར་ཅན་བོར་བ། བྲམ་ཟེ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་རྩ་བ་སུས་ཁྱེར་བ།

敲击器皿的声音指示时间，然后各自返回。那些仙人完成念诵和火供的仪式后，按照年长顺序一个接一个地离开，依次取走莲藕，在各自的茅屋里如法食用，并专注精进于禅定。他们除了听法的时候，互不相见。他们以这样的戒律和行为，沉浸在远离尘嚣的喜悦和禅定中，名声大噪，被天界之主帝释天听到，为了考察他们而前去，看到他们那样的行为后， 将那莲藕，如同小象的象牙般洁白的菩萨的份额，在婢女返回后使其消失不见。菩萨到那里后，发现最初的地方没有莲藕，只看到莲叶杂乱地堆放在那里，心想：我的那份莲藕被谁拿走了吧。没有生气和心烦意乱，就返回到树叶茅屋里如法禅定。心想：如果对其他仙人心生不悦就不好了，所以没有说话。其他的弟弟们心想：这个人已经拿走了自己的那份。各自取走自己的那份，在茅屋里食用并禅定。像这样，第二天、第三天、第四天、直到第五天，也让他的那份消失不见，但他没有非常烦恼，而是非常平静。傍晚时分，那些仙人依次来到他的住处听法，看到他身体消瘦，脸颊和眼睛深陷，面色不好，声音低沉，身体虚弱，但却稳定，增长了非常寂静的功德，问道：这是怎么了？他便讲述了所发生的事情。之后，那些苦行者心想：不可能有这样的不如法的事情啊。表示不悦和惊讶，说完后便低头，因羞愧而沉默不语。因为帝释天的神力遮蔽，所以也不知道发生了什么事。之后，菩萨的弟弟为了表明自己心中没有疑虑，表明自己的清白，发了一个特别的誓言：婆罗门，你的莲藕是谁拿走的？

The sound of striking the instrument indicated the time, and then they returned separately. After those hermits had completed the rituals of recitation and fire offerings, they left one by one in order of seniority, took the lotus roots in order, ate them according to the ritual in their respective huts, and devoted themselves to diligent meditation. They did not visit each other except when listening to the Dharma. In this way, with such discipline and conduct, they became famous for indulging in the joy of solitude and meditation. Indra, the lord of the gods, heard of this and went to examine them. Seeing their conduct, he made the lotus root, the share of the Bodhisattva, as white as an elephant calf's tusk, disappear after the maidservant had returned. When the Bodhisattva went there, he found no lotus root in the original place, but saw the lotus leaves piled up in a mess. He thought, 'Someone must have taken my share of the lotus root.' Without anger or agitation, he returned to his leaf hut and meditated properly. Thinking, 'It would be bad if I became displeased with the other hermits,' he said nothing. The other younger brothers thought, 'This one has already taken his share.' Each took his own share, ate it in his hut, and meditated. In this way, on the second day, the third day, the fourth day, and even until the fifth day, his share was made to disappear, but he was not greatly agitated, but was very calm. In the evening, those hermits came to his presence in order to listen to the Dharma, and saw that his body was emaciated, his cheeks and eyes were sunken, his complexion was poor, his voice was low, and his body was weak, but he was stable and his virtues of great peace had increased. They asked, 'What is wrong?' He told them what had happened. Then, those ascetics thought, 'Such an unrighteous thing is impossible.' They expressed displeasure and amazement, and after saying this, they bowed their heads and remained silent out of shame. Because of Indra's power obscuring them, they did not know what had happened. Then, the Bodhisattva's younger brother, in order to show that he had no doubts in his mind and to show his purity, made a special vow: 'Brahmin, who took your lotus root?'
