Even though the palace women tried to dissuade her, the flames of her anger still burned, and she grew even more enraged, commanding, "Today, you must cut off the head of the Dharma-protecting child and pour the blood on that wicked woman!" The Dharma-protecting child, hearing this in the children's monastery, wept and said, "The beings in samsara are so discordant! They even kill their own offspring because of anger." Having said this, the child dressed himself in finery and prostrated before his father, saying, "Father, if I, your wretched child, have committed any fault, please do not kill me." The king said, "Wretched child, if your mother can forgive you, I will also forgive you." Then, the Dharma-protecting child went to his mother and prostrated at her feet, saying, "Mother, please forgive me and do not let me be killed!" He cried pitifully, pleading, but even hearing these words, the mother did not forgive him. The executioners, with sharp swords, cut off the child's head and poured the blood on the wicked woman, but she still felt no remorse. The Dharma-protecting child arose joy and loving-kindness towards his parents and the executioners, and then passed away. Thus, the Dharma-protecting child was the Bhagavan, and the wicked queen was Devadatta, so the Buddha said. Again, in the past, there was a king named Mount Meru, who rode in a chariot with his army to hunt in the forest. While the king was resting in the shade of a tree, merchants who had come from the north presented gifts and praised the greatness of the Vajra-bearing King of their country. King Mount Meru became jealous and returned to his palace, sending a messenger to the Vajra-bearing King, saying, "If you do not come here immediately to pay homage, I will severely punish you." Hearing this, the furious Vajra-bearing King assembled his fourfold army and marched towards the territory of King Mount Meru, and they engaged in a fierce battle, resulting in many deaths and injuries. At that time, the ministers said to King Mount Meru, "You two kings are equally powerful, so it is better to abandon this war and live in harmony."

There, once, King Sumeru's daughter, named Snarma, became pregnant with the Blessed One himself. Due to the power of that queen being pregnant, just as thoughts arose in her mind, the king held an umbrella over her and also released the prisoners. There, a son was born, possessing the qualities of a form as bright as the sun, a radiant jewel umbrella. Gradually, he became proficient in all the scriptures, exceedingly patient, and became like a friend to the world. Then, the king grew old and placed his son on the throne, and the father passed away. At that time, he ruled the kingdom of Dharma, thinking, 'May divine food, clothing, ornaments, and so on arise in this palace of mine,' and as soon as he thought that, it happened. He also treated his friends with respect and joy, so his name became known as 'Joyful Globule.' Through the power of the king, in all the houses in the land of the lineage of the drum sound, divine enjoyments arose. There, a minister named Evil Wisdom, who was cruel-minded, thought, 'If I kill this Joyful Globule, I will be able to control this assembly of people.' So, he sent a letter to King Sumeru, saying, 'This Joyful Globule is the son of your enemy, so if you kill him, you will become the master of the entire Jambudvipa, and I will become a servant of the gods.' King Sumeru, having heard this, sent a messenger to him, saying, 'Your father stole my wealth and caused me suffering, now I too will harm you in the same way with great power.' Evil Wisdom also said, "Joyful Crest is very weak and foolish, so he cannot harm you at all, O god!" Then, King of Mountains, wanting to fight with the four divisions of his army, went to the place of Joyful Crest's army. Joyful Crest also boarded a large ship resembling a great celestial palace, surrounded by a crowd of singing people, enjoying and bathing in the waters of the Ganges. Afterwards, at the time of anointing and eating, the sound of the drums being played was like thunder, as if the mountains were shaking. King of Mountains became agitated and asked Evil Wisdom, "What is he doing?" He said, "With this sound of drums, Joyful Crest is producing heavenly food and drink, wanting to eat it together with his family." King of Mountains said, "If the power of his merit is so great, won't he cause a burning thunderbolt to fall upon me and my retinue? We must have patience!" Then, King of Mountains, knowing that the other party had reservations, thought, "I should use a trick to subdue him." People proclaimed, "You are acting in discord with me in this way." If you do not reconcile with me, I will abandon patience and kill you with a burning thunderbolt. King of Mountains was frightened and reconciled. Joyful Crest was invited by King of Mountains to his own residence, where he was honored according to the rituals and praised in various ways. Joyful Crest also established him on the path of Dharma with Dharma talks, and then returned to his own city. Joyful Crest had the splendor of a god.
