This king often cursed all women, but he said he had never seen a woman like this who did not leave her household. The king gradually heard these words and had the woman brought in for viewing. When she arrived, the king sneered: 'You have eaten the flesh of my thighs, and you have also drunk my blood, and you carry a heavy burden, do you not leave your household? For the sake of stones and dust, you abandoned me on the cliff, carrying a heavy burden, do you not leave your household?' After the king said this, the woman lowered her head in shame. The ministers asked the king about this, and he told them the details of what had happened. The king banished the woman from the city with insulting words. At that time, the young prince Saga was the Blessed One himself, and that woman was Devadatta, he said. Furthermore, once upon a time, on the seashore, there lived two Shang Shang birds whose bodies were joined together, one named Dharma and the other named Non-Dharma. Once, when Non-Dharma was asleep, Dharma, while searching for food, found an ambrosia fruit, and he picked it up and thought: 'Should I wake him up, or should I eat it?' He also thought: 'Even if I eat it, it will only nourish one body.' So, he did not wake Non-Dharma and ate it himself. When Non-Dharma woke up, he felt the fragrance of the ambrosia fruit emanating from Dharma's body and asked: 'What is this fragrance?' Dharma said it was an ambrosia fruit. He asked: 'Where did you get it?' Dharma told him what had happened. Non-Dharma said: 'You have done something bad, and I will also let you know the time.' So, when Dharma was asleep, Non-Dharma, while searching for food, saw a poisonous fruit being washed away by the water, and he ate it, and as a result, he fainted. Non-Dharma, tormented by the poison, vowed: 'Wherever I am born, I will kill you, retaliate against you, and become your enemy.' Dharma said: 'Wherever I am born, may I practice loving-kindness towards you.' Thus, Dharma is the Blessed One, and Non-Dharma is Devadatta. The two-headed goose is also the same. Furthermore, the fisherman's son is a poet, and the Sun King is...

And the time when he became a ūkkhyud, and the two times when jewelers argued about the value of jewels, and the two sons of a householder, and the time when he became two Brahmin boys, also, the way in which he was at odds with Devadatta in the past should be seen in the one hundred and third volume of the Vinaya Basis. Furthermore, in the past, when this Bhagavan became the king of Body Excellence, there was a king named Brahma-datta who was weaker than the previous king, and he was always jealous of the other's glory and made him an enemy, but the king of Body Excellence always had a mind of loving-kindness. Once, when Brahma-datta had arrayed the fourfold host and came to fight with the king of Body Excellence, the king of Body Excellence, although he had a much larger army, did not take him as an enemy. He extended a road of one and a half yojanas, adorned it with ornaments, prepared a feast of food and drink, and sent ministers and townspeople to greet him. King Brahma-datta also abandoned his anger and made the king of Body Excellence happy. Thinking that he would return, he went to the king of Body Excellence, who led him inside with great respect and satisfied him with a feast of food. He said, "O king, please forgive me! I always bow to you! I have become a friend, please have mercy on me!" Then he said, "You have drawn the bow of forbearance, and with one arrow of merit that destroys anger and pride, you have destroyed us all." Then the two of them became mutually agreeable, and Brahma-datta went to his own country. Furthermore, When this Bhagavan was formerly a king named Kinsman, an enemy king named Fierce God arrayed his forces and came to seize Kinsman's kingdom. Kinsman asked his ministers what to do about it, and some said that courage should be aroused and he should be repelled, and likewise, wealth should be given, and how the assembly of ministers should accomplish it, and that he should be overcome with an army. The chief of the city, named Water God, was rich and had much wealth, was generous and compassionate.
