It is said that the son of the crow and the elephant were Kungawo. Even if a Bodhisattva is born in the realm of animals, he can abide by the precepts of himself and others, let alone being born as gods and humans. Furthermore, when Indra was born as a hundred offerings in the past, a large army of Asuras attacked, and when the gods fought with them, the gods were defeated. On the way back, the top of the chariot's yoke hit a Sala tree with a bird's nest, and when the chicks were about to fall, Indra said to the charioteer Matali: Do not hit these immature chicks, drive the chariot away! The charioteer said: The army of Asuras is chasing after us, there is no time to care! Indra said: Even if I die, it's okay. These chicks who are in danger because of fear cannot be killed, turn the chariot around! As soon as he turned around, the Asuras were frightened and scattered. Furthermore, in the past, the Blessed One was born as the son of a great Brahmin family. He learned the Vedas from a minister who was knowledgeable and virtuous, and became more intelligent, clear, and respectful. Therefore, the master loved him especially. At that time, in order to examine the conduct of the students, the Khenpo always told the story of his poverty and suffering when performing the fire offering. Because the students loved the Khenpo, they begged for a lot of food and offered it to him. The Khenpo said: What's the use of you begging for food so hard? If you want to save me, go and earn money! They said: We have little merit, What can we do if we can't do more than this? There are few people who give alms, and Brahmins have few ways to earn money! The Khenpo said: Although Brahmins have ways to earn money from the scriptures, I am old and have no strength, so I can't do it! The students said: If we can do it, please tell us, and we will repay your kindness of Dharma. The Khenpo said: Others, those who can't bear to work hard, find it difficult to do, but if you insist on doing it, then the knowledge of earning money is...

Therefore, when a Brahmin declines, it is said that stealing is Dharma. In this world, having no wealth is the greatest decline. Therefore, do not take what belongs to others when you see it. All these things are the wealth of Brahmins. Even if you are able to rob openly, you must protect your reputation. After saying this, the students listened without examining and said, "Let's do it that way." The Bodhisattva, being virtuous by nature, saw those words as unreasonable and, feeling ashamed, lowered his head and said nothing. The Abbot, seeing this, thought that this person must have some merit. He also wondered if it was because he could not strive, or did not like hardship, or whether he did not steal because of his understanding of Dharma. So he said to him: "These Brahmins, because they cannot bear my decline, have generated mental strength. Do you not love me? Are you unable to strive? Why do you not speak?" The Bodhisattva replied: "It is not that I do not love the Abbot, nor that I am hard-hearted and not tormented by the suffering of the Lama. It is because this knowledge taught by the Abbot is impossible, so I have no interest in it. Why is that? Because, like this, such a secluded place where one can commit evil unseen by anyone does not exist. There is nowhere that is unseen by beings, gods, and Buddhas. Children who do evil and think that others do not know are foolish. If one commits a wrong deed while seeing it with one's own eyes, it is impossible to say that no one sees it, because one sees it with one's own eyes. Therefore, it is impossible to be without sin. Therefore, I have no interest in such things." The Abbot was very pleased and said: "You are able to discern the faults and merits of my words with wisdom, and you do not bury your merits for the sake of wealth, which is good. It is better to hold a clay pot and beg at the enemy's door than to abandon shame and violate Dharma to obtain the position of a king of gods." He praised him, saying: "Child, great Brahmin, you have done well." When he became the king of the Shibi country (now northern India), he benefited the people like a father. The daughter of his great minister, like a goddess, aroused desire in whoever saw her.
