Speaking to those seeking liberation, Father, please listen. No god dislikes me. I do not like such sensual pleasures. And so on, recounting the faults of sensual pleasures such as women, and how the gods urged him, and how I liked solitude, all spoken in verses. Then, the prince, dwelling in the palace, with a contented mind, together with those women, abided in the three modes of conduct: standing, walking, and sitting, dispelling drowsiness and sleep. He went to the top of the house and sat alone on the ground. When midnight arrived, the gods of the Pure Abodes walked in the sky and heard praises of the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha being spoken. Having heard this, his body bristled with hair, and tears flowed. He joined his palms and asked the gods: Whose virtues do you praise as you walk in the sky? Hearing this, my heart feels happy, he said in verse. The gods replied in verse: The Buddha Siddhartha Gautama dwells together with monks practicing meditation. The prince asked in verse: What is the form of that Buddha like? How does one practice to become a Buddha? What is the conduct of Bodhi practice like?
