If it is thought that placing it in this way is meaningless, it is not meaningless. The reason is that if one admits that cause and effect are truly established, then true establishment must be able to withstand rational analysis. If this is the case, there is no other possibility than the two extremes of contact and non-contact, or with and without interval, so it must be generated in one of these two ways. If one is separated from these two, there is no other way of generating cause and effect, so cause and effect are also unreasonable. However, for those who do not admit that cause and effect are truly existent, it is sufficient that the cause itself is the nature of things, which is the cause of the effect that does not arise without it. It is not necessary to admit either of the two ways of generating contact and non-contact. Even if one does not admit it in this way, cause and effect will not become unreasonable, and moreover, cause and effect are very reasonable, which will be explained below when explaining conventional designations, in the sections such as "I cause the former and the former..." Therefore, these reasonings that refute false appearances are very powerful, and if one can well experience the unique profundity contained therein, one can thoroughly understand the tenets of the Mind-Only school and reveal the secret of the Middle Way, so for the two truths' school, there is nothing more important than this. Second, establishing the absence of true singularity and plurality: It is said, "Whatever things are analyzed, there is no oneness in them. Where there is no oneness, there is no plurality either." That is to say, for whatever things are admitted by both self and others, such as permanent and impermanent, pervasive and non-pervasive, coarse and subtle, knower and knowable, when analyzing whether they are established in a single way, for things that appear to be single in the face of non-analysis, such as bubbles congealed, if measured with an analysis heavier and more solid than a hundred billion Vajra Mountains, even a particle cannot bear it, and it can only be broken and scattered into hundreds of pieces. Therefore, there is no oneness established in any of those things. If there is no oneness, then there is no plurality either, because plurality must begin with oneness, and if there is no oneness, how can there be plurality? Just as there is no forest without trees. As it is said in the Lankavatara Sutra, "If analyzed by wisdom, self-nature cannot be grasped. Therefore,\

Those are inexpressible, and it is said that their essence is also non-existent. If analyzed with wisdom, there is no other-power and no discrimination. If there are no established entities at all, how can wisdom discriminate? There is no self-nature, no consciousness, no entity, and no alaya-consciousness. Like a corpse, childish logicians, those evil ones, will discriminate these. From characteristics, entities, consciousness, and whatever movement of the mind, my sons have completely transcended, and they act without discriminating these. Thus it is said. If one examines and analyzes with wisdom, one cannot grasp or find the essence of one and many. Therefore, those entities cannot be truthfully expressed in words as "this is this," and there is no essence that can be grasped by the mind as that, which shows that external objects do not exist. Furthermore, in order to show that knowledge is also internal, if analyzed with wisdom, the three entities of other-power, imputation, and perfect reality are also completely non-existent, then how can wisdom discriminate their existence? Also, if they do not exist in this way, then how do these internal and external entities appear in the world? If one thinks like this, external forms and so on have no self-nature, and the consciousness of the eye and so on, which are the objects, also have no consciousness. The entities that appear as places, bodies, and enjoyments, both internal and external, do not exist, and the alaya-consciousness that holds the seeds of those does not exist either. However, because it is separated from the wisdom light of discriminating the true meaning, or separated from the movement of wisdom that discriminates the Dharma as it is, it is like a corpse, praised by children with evil discrimination, and they discriminate in that way as true, but in reality it is not so. Also, then, in what kind of state will those who are skilled in the true nature of Dharma abide? From the characteristics of blue, yellow, and so on, the entities of internal and external sources, the consciousness of the eye and so on, and the movement of the mind of other-power, and so on, after my sons have transcended all the elaborations of all discriminations, those wise ones act without discriminating anything. Thus it is said. Furthermore, the teacher Dharmakirti, whose wisdom is completely pure, also said: Whoever definitely analyzes things,
