After washing hands, collect when the nāga is present, and combine with spang spos (a type of incense) as the base, this is the fundamental formula. Furthermore, as stated in 'Supplementing the Majesty of the Nāgas': Bamboo leaves and white mustard leaves restore the damaged root veins of the nāgas. Nāga kesar (dragon's blood) recalls the forgotten bodhicitta. White incense stabilizes bodhicitta. Pu shel point restores the root veins. Stone root, called lama, restores bones. Puṣpa kesara (པུཥྤ་གེ་སར་,पुष्प केसर,puṣpa kesara, flower stamen) causes a garden of flowers to arise. Camphor, saffron, white and red sandalwood eliminate heat diseases and nourish the body. Nutmeg, heart-shaped shosha, and kidney-shaped shosha eliminate diseases of the heart and other organs respectively. Furthermore, there is the peacock's feather, known as root peacock, as well as black and white cumin. The so-called 'snake skin' is actually a bark of a tree that comes from Lho Mon (Southern Bhutan), and if it is not found, the bark of the wild willow tree is used instead, which seems to be the practice of the previous lamas. Also, sea foam and white calamus. Furthermore, the medicines that arise from the components of Lama Gongdü (Dudjom Lingpa's terma): Great white incense root, cardamom, gold and silver, worm-free conch shell, coral, naturally occurring copper, flawless pearls, etc., are best if they are treated according to the principles of Sowa Rigpa (Tibetan medicine) for removing rust, detoxifying, and nourishing. If not, the coarsely ground powder can be boiled in clean water with sour substances such as sea buckthorn and vinegar, and then rinsed with cold water to ensure the removal of rust and dirt. Also, burnt earth, sand, etc., the five elements, and the Garuda's fear-protecting board, etc., various clean silks with vibrant colors should also be mixed. Furthermore, the medicines mentioned in the Naga Torma (Naga Offering Ritual): gzi stone and red lead, i.e., sindhūra (སིནྡྷུ་ར།,सिन्दूर,sindūra,Sindura, a red mineral pigment), mgron bu, chag tshang ku ba, sle tres, byi tang ka, arura (ཨ་རུ་ར།,,arura,Haritaki), and 'dam bu ka ra should also be mixed. Furthermore, precious substances only need to be thoroughly cleaned by washing. Tree species should be collected in the summer when the trees are flourishing and growing, with cleanliness, from the species that are native to the area. Herbal medicines should be freshly mixed and free from impurities, especially musk, which is harmful to the nāgas, and any contamination from other medicines should be separated and treated separately, which would be best. If this is not possible, thoroughly wash with clean water that has been blessed with mantra water accomplished by (Vajrasattva) and others. Items that cannot be washed and all items in general should be purified with a cleansing bath. Mixing impure naga medicines together indiscriminately will harm the nāgas.

Numerous accounts exist. Auspicious times, such as the lunar month, are aligned with the dragons and combined with auspicious stars. People purify themselves with bathing, cleanse their hands and feet, and meticulously scrub stone basins to prevent contamination from saliva and bodily impurities. Avoid contact with and trampling by dogs and women. It is especially crucial to avoid substances harmful to dragons, such as musk and guggul, as well as the scent of impure foods like garlic and onions, and unclean substances like meat and blood. Therefore, practitioners should abstain from consuming meat, alcohol, garlic, and onions, and prevent even their scent from contaminating the medicine. Enhance the potency with three sweets—uncontaminated rock candy and brown sugar obtained from Nepalese hands, and pure honey free of insects and impurities. Although the Gongdü (དགོངས་འདུས་) mentions making "dough pills," the current practice avoids it, claiming it is harmful to fish. Incorporate a small amount of finely ground flour made from a mixture of white grains such as wheat, barley, and rice. In containers that are not potent or poisonous, such as those made of iron or rhinoceros horn, place various waters where dragons reside, water from great oceans and rivers, and milk from reddish-yellow cows, white cows, and white dri (འབྲི་, female yak). Seal with hand mudras, roll the pills to the size of medium sheep droppings, and dry them in the shade. Alternatively, the medicine can be ground into powder. Place it in a clean white cotton bag. Store it in a clean container made of precious stones, pottery, or wood, shielded from the radiance of fire, sun, and blue sky. On days such as the first day of the Gyal (རྒྱལ་) and Chü (མཆུ་) months, ensure there are no dog barks or women present. Perform the ritual in a previously excavated, blessed location, as described in the Gongdü. When needed, avoid touching with bare hands; instead, wrap it in a white or blue cloth and place it in the cave of a potent spring. Hide it where dogs cannot see it, or in important places like lakes, inscribe the rain-summoning mantra on a bamboo node with pure saffron, seal the opening, and throw it into the depths. It is said that even if delayed for three to five days, heavy rain will fall within seven days. When performing dragon healing, dissolve the pills in cow or goat milk and pour it into springs, etc., to pacify dragon harm and restore dried-up springs, among other benefits. When performing dragon purification, it is said that collecting various dragon trees, grinding them into powder, mixing them with purification substances, and burning them as incense is also beneficial.
