For all diseases, pray to the Medicine Buddha. For all evil spirits, recite the Maha-vidyaraja and Cooling Grove, and read the Following Finger Sutra. For all poisons, recite the Maha Mayuri Vidyarajni and the Poison-Removing Mother, and read the Dharani with Fingers. Treat lung pain with the Tsen (ritual). Similarly, for the heart, use the king (ritual); for the liver, use the Matri and demons; for the gallbladder, use the Matri; for the kidneys, use the Nagas and Nyen spirits. For spleen disease, treat with male and female swords and the earth deities. In any case, substitutes and common Torma offerings are beneficial. Avoid people, objects, food, wealth, etc., that are taboo according to the year's Parkha until the illness is cured. Rely on those that are beneficial. The time is the inauspicious time of the Parkha, etc., perform life-extending sun journeys, protection, etc., and combine protection with beneficial rituals. Even if not ill, acting according to the Parkha's principles of acceptance and rejection each year will liberate from obstacles. Therefore, just these become crucial and particularly auspicious connections in the ritual. In any divination, if life is severely threatened, recite the Life-Extending Dharani. If the body is weak, perform medical rituals. If power is diminished, make offerings and give generously as much as possible. If luck is greatly hindered, or if there is great fear of evil spirits and curses, recite the White Umbrella Goddess and loudly recite the Vajra Destroyer. Also, loudly recite the mantras that counteract each specific problem. For severe cases, continue these practices. Change body ornaments, change names, and take refuge. Furthermore, if possible, perform the ritual treatments for each of the Parkha, Mewa, planets, and stars. From the texts of elemental astrology, the meaning of the Death Lord's Lasso Unbinding ritual, etc., can be summarized as follows: Make an image of the same age as oneself. Send away a substitute made from dough the size of the patient's heart. For a male, carve a wooden plaque with the number of years on a male tree and hang it on the right shoulder. Combine your own dirty clothes, scented items, hair, and nails with the substitute.
