For us and our retinue, may the evil intentions of outsiders and non-humans, such as the use of mantra curses, sorcery, and evil deeds, be turned back and transformed. The time has come for the activity of averting and transforming all unfavorable obstacles and harms. May the oath-breaking ghosts and sorcerers suffer their own consequences. Destroy the enemy demons and sorcerers, Mara! Thus, apply this to the ten wrathful deities, the gatekeepers, the phurba protectors, and offer the lingam (effigy) and zor (offering) at the base of the torma. Then, slowly turn the faces of the deities outward and proclaim the aversion mantra like a thousand dragons. As the wrathful assembly showers down a fierce rain of fire weapons, avert all obstacles, harms, and hindrances to us and our retinue, like chaff scattered by the wind. Descend the wrathful deities and the arrogant army upon the enemy demons and sorcerers, destroy the tent of protection, and burn all the groups and categories into ashes, leaving no trace. After visualizing this, reverse the mala (rosary). Oṃ guru hari nisa dapa sha, etc., repeat the above mantra seven, twenty-one, or one hundred times, as appropriate. This mantra binds and averts all curses and spells from the eight classes of spirits, both internal and external, and even all harm from wild animals and insects. If one is severely affected by curses from others, recite this during inauspicious times such as black suns and when Mercury is in transit. When terrifying events such as hailstorms occur, this method is extremely important, so do not treat it lightly, it is said. After reciting the mantra, strike the stone torma with mustard seeds. Finally, speak the words of truth and clap your hands. It is also good to take out various aversion texts, such as the Kadam Black Phurba aversion text. Then, perform the tsok offering as usual. After practicing in this way for one or three days, or as appropriate, perform the golden libation opening ritual and the zor throwing ritual, either elaborately or concisely, as appropriate.
