Furthermore, one is the fault of being diminished by intense desire, and the other is the fault of being diminished by laziness. 1. These two differ because the object of desire is different, such as here or elsewhere. 2. The listener is very greedy and the speaker is less greedy, or vice versa. 3. Whether or not one possesses the qualities of learning. 4. Whether or not one possesses a virtuous or non-virtuous mind. 5. The fault of being fond of giving and being diminished by stinginess. 6. One wants to give and the other does not accept. 7. Understanding through concise explanation or understanding through detailed elaboration. 8. Whether or not one knows the Dharma of the Sutras, etc. 9. Whether or not one possesses the six perfections. 10. Whether or not one is skilled in the means of accomplishing omniscience. 11. Whether or not one has obtained dharani. 12. Whether or not one wants to write the Mother. 13. Whether or not one is free from the five obscurations, such as desire for desirable qualities. 14. The two situations that rely solely on oneself are: Hearing of unpleasant places such as hell, one turns one's mind away from going to the lower realms for the sake of others. 15. Hearing of praises of gods, etc., one becomes attached to going to the happy realms for one's own sake. 16. The seven situations related to either the earlier or later teaching and listening are: The fault of the speaker being happy alone and the listener being happy with the retinue and thus diminishing. 17. Not distinguishing the occasion of the followers, and the followers wanting to associate. 18. The speaker desiring a little material gain, and the listener not wanting to give it. 19. Wanting to go to a place that will become an obstacle to life and a place that will not become an obstacle to life. 20. Whether or not to go to a place where famine occurs. 21. Whether or not to go to a place disturbed by thieves, etc. 22. The fault of the speaker visiting the house of a friend for the sake of alms, etc., and the listener being unhappy and thus diminishing. 23. The three situations that depend on others are: The means by which demons create division between the Dharma and the person, that is, the demon comes in the guise of a monk, as it appears in the Sutra of our Mother, and creates division by saying that it is not as it appears in the three sections of extensive, medium, and concise. 1. Explaining that meditating on ugliness, etc., is the meaning of reality. Or, establishing the profound view of no object as a path by means of artificial meditation with an object. 2. The demon

To make those who come in the form of the Buddha develop faith in them as the Buddha, and to make them happy with the manifestations of demons who are not objects of reverence. 3. In short, if there is no gathering for teaching and listening in this way, it is the work of demons; if there is, it is not. It should be abandoned. The wisdom that realizes emptiness as equality, the compassion that does not abandon sentient beings, and the firm vow to act as spoken, that is, the inner and outer causes and conditions, endowed with the blessings of the Buddha, can subdue the obstructive activities of demons. Third, the characteristics of knowable objects are twofold: a brief explanation from the aspect of essence, and a detailed explanation from the aspect of classification. First, with what symbol is it combined? That which can symbolize the realization of the base wisdom, the path wisdom, and the all-knowing wisdom, and which is superior to the Lesser Vehicle and possesses the ability to accomplish the two benefits, that should be known as the characteristic of combination. That is also of three kinds from the point of view of the agent and the object. The agent that symbolizes this is: the characteristic of knowledge, the characteristic of difference, and the characteristic of action, these three. Whatever the essence is, the characteristic is also, and not only that, but it is also the symbolized. In general, the characteristics of knowable objects are four, such as knowing characteristics, etc., and knowing characteristics also has three kinds of knowing characteristics: base wisdom, path wisdom, and all-knowing wisdom. Although these three wisdoms are the same and without difference in knowing all their respective objects as unborn and equal, the base wisdom is the realization of the suchness of the base aggregates, elements, and sources, the path wisdom is the realization of the path, and the all-knowing wisdom is shown from the aspect of seeing all the aspects of knowable objects as unborn. Therefore, the base wisdom shows the base of mind and the base of phenomena such as attachment, the path wisdom shows the phenomena of the path such as the three doors of liberation, and the all-knowing wisdom shows the wisdom of the non-learning fruit such as the uncommon realm of that wisdom and the place to be revered, and through knowing those realms, they are symbolized by the base wisdom and so on, just as when knowing blue, it is called blue-grasping consciousness, and the realm blue is symbolized, thereby showing the possessor of the realm. Similarly, the characteristic of the agent is also symbolized by the agent of the possessor of the realm, thereby knowing the agent, just as the carpenter is symbolized by doing the work of supporting the roof beam. The characteristic of difference is also.
