The past has passed, and the unborn future is also unknowable. Why? Because the cognition of the past and future is based on prior existence, recollection, death, transference, and birth. These are all mundane cognitions. Second, the intellect of mind-consciousness that accords with the aspects of dharma-consciousness and subsequent-consciousness, since their respective categories are dissimilar, they cannot mutually cognize each other. This is because the desires and higher antidotes that the two target are different, and it is believed that they do not target what is turned away from. In the path of seeing, since there is no uninterrupted undefiled meditative absorption, there is no opportunity to engage in the activity of mind-consciousness, so there is no telepathy. However, understanding and faith in the Buddha and the Sangha arise from trusting what is seen as truth, not from directly knowing the minds of others. This is the view of the philosophical schools. The higher vehicle does not accept the many qualities that arise in an instant, such as knowing hundreds of worlds. Third, examining the question of how the object of mind-consciousness on the path of seeing changes in an instant. The path of seeing is the object of others' mind-consciousness, so if we explain this, the mind-consciousness of the Hearers, due to their dull faculties, can only cognize the first two instants out of the fifteen instants of the path of seeing. If one wants to understand the aspect of subsequent cognition, one must accomplish it through other actions. Even if it is accomplished, it takes a long time in between, so one will obtain sixteen mind-moments, but since they have passed after being obtained, it is said that they cannot be cognized. If it is said that even the first two instants cannot be cognized, because when one begins to engage in the action of wanting to understand them and it is completed, those two instants have ceased, then those two instants should be understood. It is said that engaging in action is not for understanding the mind of this person. It is said that when one begins to engage in action, the first two instants that arise simultaneously with the accomplishment of clairvoyance will be understood, but this is the view of the Vaibhashikas. If that were the case, then the forbearance of subsequent cognition, etc., would also be understood. Therefore, the action is directed towards the general, not the particular, so it cannot be understood. Therefore, even if it is said that these are no different, but one recognizes the difference, perhaps it is any two. Someone like a solitary rhinoceros can cognize the first two instants and three of the eighth instant. This needs to be accomplished through the great action of the Hearers, and this is striving for action.

Because the lesser being first knows two moments, and also in order to accomplish direct perception within five moments. Therefore, after recognizing the eighth, one must again cultivate the ninth with other methods, and then, due to fatigue, even in seven moments the cultivation is not completed. After that, one transcends the path of seeing. Some say that after first knowing the first two moments, and then through cultivation, one knows the fifteenth and third moments. For the two, Hearers and Solitary Realizers, the first mentioned is representative, that is, Hearers can know two similar moments as they wish, while Solitary Realizers can know two similar and one dissimilar moment, that is, three as they wish, this is in terms of not being able to know more than that. For the Buddha, because it is spontaneously accomplished, without effort in cultivation, one can completely know all moments. Second, the explanation of the forms of knowing distinction, cessation, and non-arising. Knowing cessation is, with respect to the four noble truths, by "completely knowing suffering" etc., one abandons the origin, realizes cessation, and cultivates the path. This is determined by the subsequent wisdom arising from knowledge during meditative equipoise. Similarly, in meditative equipoise, "I have completely known suffering, and there is no need to completely know it again" etc., the subsequent wisdom arising from the arising from realization determines the wisdom of non-arising, this is what the Kashmiris believe. Those who live under the sun believe that in meditative equipoise, besides the sixteen aspects of the uncontaminated, there are other aspects, therefore one can determine it in this way. The scriptures say that seeing and realization are the same, but seeing does not refer to viewing, but to knowing or directly knowing. Second, regarding the differences of the ten wisdoms, it is divided into nine aspects: the reason for establishing them as ten, the forms of these wisdoms, the differences of virtue etc., where they are located, what they rely on, what nature of mindfulness they are, which becomes the object of which, how they are associated, and how they are obtained. The first aspect is divided into two types: real and special. The real aspect, from the nature of the contaminated, establishes conventional wisdom, this is because one does not know the ultimate truth but knows the conventional truth. As antidotes to the desire realm and the realms above, there are two wisdoms of dharma and subsequent wisdom, the two wisdoms of suffering and origin are distinguished only by the difference in aspects such as impermanence, because the objects of both are the aggregates of appropriation, so it is one. The aspects of cessation and path etc.
