A monk who has attained [something] based on the support of what, through the nature of Dharma? Or some non-Buddhists, etc., say they have attained the fruit of Arhat through the practice of a renunciate. Whichever being, human or deva, attains the Stream-enterer, they will ultimately pass into Nirvana based on that support. Secondly, whichever of the two paths, the path of cultivation abandonment, has liberated from the three or four aspects of the cultivation abandonment of the desire realm, whether they are gradual or sudden, if they abandon four, they will be born in two lifetimes, and if they abandon three, they will be born in three lifetimes in a lineage. That is, there are two types: being born in a lineage of devas and being born in a lineage of humans. Although it is not mentioned that those who abandon one or two afflictions will be born in a lineage in six or five lifetimes, it is understood implicitly. This is how the former teachers explained it. Some say that it is also born in a lineage in two or three lifetimes, so it is not explained separately. Why is it that abandoning the fifth is not mentioned as being born in a lineage? Because abandoning the fifth, the sixth must also be abandoned in that lifetime, so it is not born in a lineage, because the single sixth cannot hinder the fruit of the Once-returner. In that case, shouldn't the single ninth aspect of the one obstacle also not hinder the fruit of the Non-returner? It is not the same, because the one obstacle must transcend the desire realm, so it is difficult, so one aspect can also hinder it, and the other does not need to transcend the realm, so it is not like that, so that one cannot hinder it. Thirdly, the Stream-enterer, whichever of the five aspects of the cultivation abandonment of the desire realm is abandoned or destroyed, not only abides in the first fruit, but also enters the second fruit, the Once-returner. Secondly, there are two types of Once-returners: the brief and the detailed. First, those who have exhausted the sixth aspect of the cultivation abandonment of the desire realm will return once to this desire realm, that is, with the three small afflictions of desire, they cannot be born more than once in the desire realm. Secondly, those who abide in the fruit of the Once-returner, who have exhausted the seven and eight parts of the faults of the cultivation abandonment of the desire realm, have one lifetime to attain the Arhat fruit, and one obstacle of affliction to attain the Non-returner fruit, and the fruit-abiding special one enters the third fruit, the Non-returner. If transcending existence

Since the karma of definite maturation is exhausted, at this time, afflictions are also as difficult to abandon as karma, therefore, even one affliction will create obstacles. Third is the Non-returner, with two aspects: essence and divisions. First, the fruit position of the Non-returner is that one becomes a Non-returner by exhausting the nine grades of what is abandoned by cultivation in the desire realm. Second, there are two types: Non-returners who transmigrate to other realms and those who do not, and two types of Non-returners who have attained cessation. The first is divided into general and specific explanations, and two other divisions of Non-returners who specifically accomplish future rebirth. The first is divided into explanations of having rebirth and attaining nirvana in this life without rebirth. The first is divided into general and specific. First, the fruit position of the Non-returner is divided into three: approaching the form realm, approaching the formless realm, and attaining nirvana in this life. The first has five: First, from here, after death, one transmigrates to any of the sixteen places in the form realm, and in the intermediate state, the Arhat attains nirvana without remainder. This is the law of nature, staying in the intermediate state for a long time, without the arising of afflictions. Second, one is born in the Brahma host and immediately attains nirvana. Third, there, one cultivates the path, and with diligent effort, one attains Arhatship. Fourth, after being born there for a long time, one completely attains nirvana without diligent effort. Fifth, one transmigrates to other higher places, these are the five. The teacher believes that one should first do without effort, as it appears in the sutras, and the order should be the same. These two are the natural arising and non-arising of the path, and the difference after birth is that the path arises very naturally, and the path is very large, so the subtle increase is very small. So it is said. Second, explain in detail the upward transmigration, divided into the form realm and the formless realm. The first is divided into going to Akanistha and going to the peak of existence. First, upward transmigration, from the perspective of cause, is divided into those who like insight and cultivate meditation, and those who like tranquility and do not cultivate meditation. First, if one cultivates meditation, the result will be to go to Akanistha. Among them, regression refers to: a noble one in the desire realm who has become familiar with the fourth dhyana, regresses from there, and because of experiencing the taste of the first dhyana, regresses from the latter three dhyanas. Born in the Brahma host, etc., due to the power of previous habituation, cultivating the fourth dhyana fifteen
