It is not a characteristic of form. Although there is no indication or obstruction, things like decay, suppression, and unpleasantness belong to the category of form aggregates arising from the Dharma. For form that is not a basis of defilement, it is designated as undefiled form. As it is said, all name and form are defiled, this is from the perspective that they are not antidotes to afflictions. The increase of merit is also due to the particularity of the habituated imprints transforming the continuum, the intention that allows even uncreated actions to occur, the conditions created by others, and the acquisition of stable sinful imprints in bodily and verbal actions. The noble path also refers to the subsequent attainment. Discipline lies in the continuity of mindfulness, awareness, and thought. When approaching things to be abandoned, shame arises. If non-rational attention alone obstructs undisciplined behavior, then there would be no possibility of undisciplined behavior in cases of forgetfulness, etc. The second part is divided into two: first, examining when the cause arises, and second, examining where the cause arises. First, the non-revealing forms belonging to the desire realm, such as discipline, etc., arise from the elements that are simultaneous with themselves in the first moment. Thereafter, they arise from the previously propelling, ceased elements, and also from the elements of the present body aggregate that serve as the basis. Therefore, they arise from two sets of four elements, like a rolling wheel. Second, all defiled bodily and verbal actions, whether revealing or non-revealing, are caused by the elements of beings from their own realm of desire up to the fourth dhyana. Undefiled bodily and verbal actions, due to the power of the basis, are caused by the elements of wherever they are born. Third, special dharmas. Non-revealing form is not an aggregate of particles, so it does not abide in a place, and therefore cannot serve as a basis for feelings of pleasure and pain. Since it arises from the same category, it is not born from the same cause or the dominant cause, but is shown as a sentient being, that is, a dharma belonging to that sentient being's continuum. Fourth, non-rational attention in the desire realm depends on the initiating intention, so it is related to sleep and non-absorption. It is not born from the dominant cause of meditative concentration, nor is it connected because colored form has ceased, so it is not born from the elements produced by maturation, but from the elements of the same category of the same cause. It arises from the elements that are presently held by the mind of the continuum, and it also follows the mind.
