If all the limbs that need to be protected must be bound, then the Sutra of Great Name says that by abandoning killing, one practices one aspect, and by abandoning the two of not giving and taking, one practices several aspects, and by abandoning the three of wrong desire, one practices most aspects. If one abandons the four roots and all five kinds of alcohol, then how is the distinction of being called a fully complete lay practitioner established? If someone asks, the Vaibhashikas say that it seems that all five are obtained when one first promises, but later, when protecting, one or two at a time deteriorate, and they say that they spoke with the intention of protecting the others, but such questions and answers are unreasonable, so it should be known that the intention of the Sutra is to take one aspect etc. from the beginning and protect it. Furthermore, in the Vinaya-vibhanga, it is also said that the lay practitioner who abandons non-celibacy, as well as taking refuge in the Three Jewels, and the lay practitioner who is only for the day and only for the night, are also explained in the treatise of Abhaya. Third, the precepts of monks etc., small etc., medium and large etc. are determined by the size of the intention of taking them correctly. Therefore, it is also possible for the precepts of an Arhat to be greater than the precepts of an ordinary person. Second, the refuge that is the basis of precepts: If all precepts are preceded by refuge, then what does one who takes refuge in the Three Jewels take refuge in? It is taking refuge in the Dharma that is the Buddha and the Sangha, that is, the path of no more learning, and the path of both learning and no more learning, and the cessation of suffering and the selective cessation as the Dharma. Among them, the path of no more learning is the Dharmakaya of the Buddha, the Sangha of learning and no more learning is divided into the eight types of individuals, and the cessation of suffering is the Dharma, therefore, this is the ultimate identification of the Three Jewels of our own tradition. Then, the Buddha should not have the uninterrupted crime of drawing blood, because the Dharmakaya cannot bleed. If someone asks, because it harms its basis or is the main thing, it is called Dharmakaya, otherwise the Rupakaya is the cause of becoming a Buddha. The meaning of taking refuge is: the expression of speech with intention, the intention is wanting to rely on it. That is said from the perspective of the time of taking. By relying on it, one is saved from suffering. Therefore, it is superior by object, intention, and action, from the Vinaya-kshudraka.
