It will change. If hatred arises, then actions such as glaring, frowning, clenching fists, etc., will change, therefore the mind dominates and controls the formations. Furthermore, the second reason from scripture is: The Tathagata said that name and form arise from the condition of consciousness. If there is no consciousness, there will be no state of name and form; if there is no consciousness, there will be no six sense bases, etc. The so-called "purity" means following the pure mind, that is, by the power of the pure mind of the yogis, if they want to turn land into gold, the land will appear as gold, etc., just as they wish, by the power of samadhi, (external objects) will transform into various forms. The sutra also extensively says: "Bhikkhus who have attained samadhi..." Therefore, formations are the fruit of the mind. "Mind follows sentient beings" means that the minds of sentient beings accumulate virtuous and non-virtuous karma, thereby manifesting various realms of the world. Formations also follow the minds of sentient beings. For sentient beings who commit evil deeds, the color, smell, taste, etc., of their crops are weak, and things like gold will appear as coal, etc. By the power of the minds of those who do good deeds, the color, smell, and taste of grains, etc., are perfect, and bad things will appear as jewels, etc. Therefore, it is evident that formations are the fruit of the mind. Therefore, since the cause is the momentary mind, the result—formations—cannot be permanent either, and it should be understood that they are momentary. Above, without distinguishing between internal and external things, it is generally explained in two verses that formations are momentary impermanent phenomena. Second, it is divided into two: internal formations are impermanent and external formations are impermanent. First, in five verses, it is argued that internal formations, that is, the mind and mental factors including the body, are all momentary impermanent phenomena. First is birth, and then growing bigger and bigger, etc., there are fourteen kinds of birth. The reason or valid cognition for proving that these are momentary is: the difference between cause and degree, etc.

Through the fourteen ways of following the mind, it can be proven that all internal conditioned phenomena are momentary. Among these, the very first arising is: when the consciousness belonging to the category of death ceases, and consciousness enters the mother's womb, coagulating together with sperm and blood, this is the first moment of connection for birth. Thus, the cessation of consciousness belonging to the category of death and the arising of consciousness belonging to the category of birth occur like the rise and fall of a balance scale, therefore it is momentary. The gradual increase in arising is: in the first moment, consciousness enters the womb, and in the second moment, etc., in a sequence of moments, from soft to hard, from thin to thick, etc., gradually increasing, this is abandoning the previous state and sequentially changing into other forms in moments. "Growth" refers to the arising of growth, which are the four causes of bodily growth: food, sleep, virtuous deeds, and meditation. In the desire realm, there are the first three, and in the form realm, there is meditation. These cause the body to grow strong and full from weakness. The commentary states that brahmacharya (celibacy) replaces bodily growth through virtuous deeds such as massage. Therefore, the causes of bodily growth are these, so it is momentary, because it is impossible for the constant to grow more and more. "The object of reliance" refers to the arising of the object of reliance, that is, the place or reliance of the six consciousnesses such as eye consciousness is the object of the six faculties such as the eye faculty, therefore they are also momentary, because they produce their own fruit, which is momentary consciousness. As long as it is cause and effect, it must be momentary, and if it does not change in moments, it cannot be cause and effect, which has already been said before. "Change" refers to the arising of change, that is, when attachment, etc., arise in the mind, the body's demeanor also changes to other forms in the same way, therefore it can be proven to be momentary. "Complete maturation" refers to the arising of maturation, that is, from being born from the womb to being able to walk is a child, from then until being able to play is a youth, from then on the strength of body and mind is complete is adulthood, from then on
