It brings joy to the heart by cutting off all suffering. By abandoning ignorance and wrong views, joy and happiness arise in sequence. If practiced as taught, one will attain unfailing results, so there will be no regret of thinking that listening to this teaching is meaningless. There is no distress. Because it is the place of perfect wisdom of hearing, it is all-knowing. Because it is the place where the perfect wisdom of thinking arises, it should be distinguished. Because it shows without concealment, it is clear, and those who attain their own benefit are the eight types of individuals, such as stream-enterers, as well as the bodhisattvas of the ten bhumis and the Tathagatas. Even those noble shravakas and bodhisattvas see that they attain their own benefit through the teachings of the Tathagata, so they generate joy in the teachings, hence it is joyful. Ordinary beings who have not attained their own benefit, desire to enter the teachings of the Tathagata in order to attain their own benefit, hence it is exceedingly joyful. The profound dharmadhatu, non-conceptual wisdom, and aspects of enlightenment, which are to be realized individually, are inconceivable. Because it accurately explains these dharmas, it enables all-knowing. Alternatively, the actions that accomplish various external objects, the realm of yogis' samadhi, the realm of the Tathagata, and the power of medicine and mantras are all inconceivable to ordinary people, so there is also an explanation that these should not be contemplated. It distinguishes by teaching the extensive dharmas that should be contemplated, such as the skandhas, dhatus, ayatanas, bhumis, and paramitas. It speaks with the three valid cognitions, hence it is logical. It teaches in accordance with the capacity of those to be tamed, hence it is related to their continuum, it is a connection. Although one meaning is expressed by many names, there is a need to understand from the perspective of each name, just as in the sutras, it is not repetitive to express it with many names. It frightens opponents and non-Buddhists, like the power of a lion's roar, just as a lion's roar frightens wild animals, it is unbearable to the power of teaching selflessness and so on. The sound of the elephant that pervades the retinue does not refer to the elephants of the human realm, but to the heavenly elephants such as Airavata.

It is said that just as the sound is not hoarse or shrill, the sound of the Tathagata also avoids these two. The deep sound of the dragon's roar is loud in tone. It is not particularly loud when heard up close, but it is not particularly small when heard from afar, it is equally balanced near and far, so it is explained as being like the sound in the clouds, that is, the sound of the dragon's roar. In the abode of the nagas, the words of the naga king are pleasing and dignified, and all the nagas can understand them, similarly, the Buddha's voice is obeyed by gods, non-gods, humans, etc., so it is like the voice of the naga king. Among the voices of sentient beings, the voice of the gandharva is the most gentle, so it is as pleasant as the voice of a human, non-human, or gandharva. The sound of the kalaviṅka bird, the pleasantness of its tone is different from the former, producing other different pleasant sounds, and it is continuous, similarly, the Buddha's voice is continuous and does not cease, and it produces other different pleasant sounds. Some say that the sound of the kalaviṅka bird is pleasant, entering the minds of sentient beings, and they never tire of listening to it, and when the sound stops, because that sound is pleasant, they want to hear it again, similarly, when they hear a word of the Buddha, they want to hear it again. The voice of Brahma is gentle and long, not intermittent, similarly, the Buddha's voice does not have the short defect of breathing, so it is long, or it is heard far away. The bird called "Ziwaziwaka", that is, the sound of the titmouse, is auspicious. If someone who is going to do something hears it, they consider it a sign that all things will surely succeed. Similarly, hearing the Buddha's voice becomes an auspicious omen for the accomplishment of all worldly and transcendental things, because after hearing the voice, all things will succeed. Because the words are dignified, everyone finds them pleasant and does not tire of them, so like the voice of the lord of the gods, the Buddha's words will not be interrupted by others. The great drum of the gods makes the sound of defeating the non-gods and the gods winning, and the non-gods naturally collapse, similarly, the Buddha also defeats all demons and opponents, initially turning the wheel of Dharma, and all who hear it conquer the demons, etc. The gods and the world praise the Buddha, but the Buddha has no arrogance, so he is not proud.
