After attaining (mastery), the transformation of the consciousness of the five senses means that the ordinary, impure realms of experience no longer appear, and one has the freedom to possess a completely pure Buddha-field. The transformation of the mind's consciousness of conceptual thought means that one will have the freedom to possess both wisdom and activity. Because one attains the four individual correct knowledges, one has the freedom to possess wisdom. Through the power of clairvoyance, one obtains the freedom to possess activity. The above also stated similar content during the transformation (of the eight consciousnesses). Thus, one obtains four freedoms. By means of these four freedoms, the eighth, immovable ground, and the other three grounds, obtain four freedoms. Among them, the eighth ground obtains the first freedom, namely the two freedoms of non-conceptualization and mastery over the Buddha-field. Apart from that, the ninth ground obtains mastery over wisdom, and the tenth ground obtains mastery over activity. Therefore, these two grounds are considered to each obtain one freedom. Other names for liberation include: A bodhisattva with intelligence, regarding all phenomena that belong to or exist in the three realms of samsara, understands the two types of selflessness, the selflessness of persons and the selflessness of phenomena, as being of one flavor and inseparable. This means that by understanding the two selves of the imputed, one eliminates the extreme of addition. The realization of selflessness is not merely an emptiness that is completely non-existent, but rather the dependent arising of illusion, the perfected nature that is empty of the two selves, is non-different and equal to suchness, thereby eliminating the extreme of nihilistic denial. Having thus understood the Middle Way, the bodhisattva enters into suchness through the path of mind-only, holding onto that path in that way, and repeatedly familiarizes himself through thought. This is the recollection of suchness through the path of mind-only, from the stage of warmth to the stage of forbearance. Thereafter, because the mind abides in the awareness of mind-only, no matter what appears to be apprehended, the nature of what is apprehended does not exist. Similarly, although mind-only appears to be the apprehender, one must also recognize that the apprehender itself does not exist like the apprehended. Therefore, having attained the samadhi of the supreme Dharma, the apprehender no longer appears at that time. Seeing that both the apprehended and the apprehender are equally non-existent in that place, the elaboration of the apprehended and the apprehender no longer appears in any way. This is liberation from all conceptual thoughts, and with the supreme wisdom of the noble ones, it is the perfected nature that is free from all objects and completely non-inverted.

Furthermore, another category of liberation is taught. Having previously accumulated the two accumulations for countless eons, therefore, in this life, the basis for accumulating the three, hearing, thinking, and meditating, on the Mahayana Dharma, and in faith and practice, properly contemplating impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, if these two grounds for growth are present, then from that cause, at the time of obtaining the heat and peak stages of the path of application, it will be seen that all phenomena are merely names given by the mind, and there is no self-characterized meaning, only conceptualization. Like this, because there is no object to be named, the basis of names, the aggregates, distinguished by names and forms, which are merely named by pervasive conceptualization, are merely mind and mental factors, and knowing that there is no external object, this is when the forbearance of the path of application is obtained. Seeing emptiness of external objects in that forbearance, holding onto mere names or mere mind from the outside, will not be seen at the time of the supreme Dharma. Like this, because the two, grasper and grasped, are not seen, appearances arise like a mirror, and ultimately, the equality of Buddhahood is attained, therefore it is liberation. Furthermore, another category of liberation is taught. Mind refers to the mind and mental phenomena such as the alaya consciousness. That mind is accompanied by the cause of bad rebirths, that is, the cause of bad rebirths of the body is non-virtue such as killing, and the cause of bad rebirths of the mind is attachment, hatred, and ignorance. Or rather, the two causes of bad rebirths are the habits of the obscurations of afflictions and knowledge. The cause of the cause of bad rebirths is to view beings as self and to view phenomena as self. Because the mind is tightly grasped by the noose of self-view, it will then deeply enter samsara. In short, the mind associated with the cause of bad rebirths, which has accumulated the obscurations of afflictions and knowledge by the two self-grasps, as long as the two self-grasps are not abandoned, then habits will be accumulated in the mind, and it will enter samsara. That mind desires to turn inward and abide, meaning, how does that mind abide inward? For the mind that clings to the grasped and is distracted, the mind is gathered into the mind internally, and the abiding in peace that is truly placed internally, and realizing that there is no grasped but only the grasping mind, and also realizing that there is no mind, thereby separating from the two, grasper and grasped, will not accumulate the habits of the cause of bad rebirths, and the mind
