The so-called "ba" comes from the sound of "dṛśa" and also applies to "seeing," so it is for the sake of seeing the true meaning from the meditation of settling the mind equally. The so-called "also unmixed" is like the previous one, repeatedly generating faith in one's own continuum. If one does not make it habitual and familiar, or if it is unmixed, it can block the two, the faith that is stolen and the faith that is mixed. Because one does not repeatedly make faith habitual and familiar in one's own continuum, even if faith arises, it is easy to be stolen by other conditions, and a mixture of faith and non-faith will occur. Conversely, faith that is very familiar and habitual is difficult to be stolen by conditions, and it is also difficult for non-faith to arise in the meantime. Therefore, what blocks these two is that faith is not familiar in one's own continuum. Not being weary of samsara is an obstacle to the faith of the Lesser Vehicle, because if one is not weary of samsara and is attached to it, one will not seek peaceful happiness. Similarly, completely being weary of samsara is an obstacle to the faith of the Great Vehicle, because being weary of samsara and wanting to completely abandon it, one will focus on one's own peace like a Hearer. Obscuration is those obscurations mentioned above in the chapter on obscuring faith, and it is an obstacle to unobscured faith, and non-diligence is an obstacle to diligent faith. Not accumulating collections, know that it is an obstacle to the arising of faith in accumulating collections. Thus, among the sixteen obstacles that have not been mentioned, the five of error, non-manifestation, obscuration, non-diligence, and non-accumulation of collections, because they are encompassed by the unfavorable side, there is no need to mention other obstacles. The three of unmixed, firm, abiding, and long-lasting are free from the obstacles of antidotes, so there is no obstacle to it, and the obstacles of the two of grasping and the two of stealing and mixing are one, so subtracting ten kinds of faith, therefore it is summarized as sixteen obstacles. For that which is born of thought, being satisfied with hearing, and the two of being satisfied with little hearing; for faith born of meditation, being satisfied with little thought, and the pride of merely being peaceful, if separated, can be counted as eighteen obstacles, but from the perspective of what is to be blocked, making it sixteen is good. Thus, without combining with each individual faith,
