I know various things by abiding in concentration, but I do not know all knowable things without obstruction, nor am I always abiding in concentration, nor am I able to answer all questions. The wisdom of the Buddha arising from aspiration, on the contrary, possesses five superior qualities: it is spontaneously accomplished without effort and does not possess the imprints of afflictions; it does not need to rely on meditative absorption, therefore it does not possess attachment; because it has abandoned the obscuration of knowledge, it has no obstruction to any knowable object; it is constantly abiding in concentration, never wavering; and it can answer any question asked by sentient beings, I prostrate to you. The four kinds of perfect knowledge are: the support, the Dharma, and the supported, the meaning, which are what is to be spoken about; the definitive words that understand the language of all sentient beings; and the endless fearlessness of knowing all knowable things, these two are for the one who teaches. Through the gate of wisdom that is always unobstructed and transformative, you excellently teach the sacred Dharma, I prostrate to you. The six superknowledges are: by the superknowledge of miraculous power, you go to wherever the being to be tamed is, by the knowledge of others' minds, you know the eighty-four thousand mental activities of their minds, by the power of the superknowledge of the divine ear, you understand the individual languages of those beings, by the knowledge of previous lives, you know where those beings came from, by the superknowledge of the divine eye, you know where they will be born in the future, and by the superknowledge of the exhaustion of defilements, you skillfully teach the way to liberation from samsara, I prostrate to you. Possessing the thirty-two major marks and eighty minor marks, when all sentient beings see your body, they will think, 'This is a great person,' and thus they will be able to recognize or understand well that this is a holy being, and merely seeing you will bring joy to their minds, I prostrate to you. The four purities are: the support, or place, or body is completely pure, therefore one can newly take a support; one can abide in that support as long as one wishes; one has control over abandoning the activities of life as one desires; and the object is pure, therefore one can newly create what did not exist before, and one has mastery over completely transforming what already exists into other forms.

And, because the mind is completely pure, you are at ease in meditative absorption; because wisdom is completely pure, you are at ease in possessing inconceivable wisdom. I prostrate to you! The ten powers are: With the power of knowing what is and is not, knowing causes and non-causes, you destroy the demons who deceive beings about the causes or methods of being born in happy and unhappy realms. For example, you destroy the deception of mistaking violent sacrifices, which are not causes of happy realms, as methods for attaining happy realms. With the power of knowing the maturation of karma, you show that, apart from the power of karma, deities like Ishvara cannot independently provide refuge, thus destroying the demons who deceive about refuge. With the power of knowing all defiled and purified meditations, you destroy the deception of purity, where merely attaining the form of meditation is seen as liberation and purification from samsara. With the remaining seven powers, you destroy the demons who greatly deceive beings about liberation through the Mahayana path. With the power of knowing all realms, you know the lineages; with the power of knowing various aspirations, you know faith; with the power of knowing various faculties, you know the differences in the faith, etc., of those to be tamed, thus knowing the differences in capacity. With the power of knowing past lives and the power of knowing death and rebirth, you know the basis of the path; with the power of knowing the path to all destinations, you know the nature of the path; with the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements, you know the result of liberation. Thus, by teaching the trainees in this way, you destroy the demons who deceive by means other than liberation through the Mahayana path. Thus, I prostrate to you, who possess the qualities of the ten powers. The four fearlessnesses are: When vowing to perfect self-benefit, you possess fearlessness, having the wisdom of knowing all aspects. When vowing to perfect abandonment, you possess fearlessness, having abandoned the two obscurations along with their imprints. When showing the path for the benefit of others, you possess fearlessness, showing the true path of liberation from samsara. When pointing out the obstacles to the path, you possess fearlessness. The demons or obstructers who obstruct the path are the afflictions such as self-view and attachment, which are obstacles to liberation from samsara. Thus, you speak the truth.
