Combining this with twenty-two types of earth metaphors, this is a complete embodiment of the key points of the Mahayana path. It is combined with eighty inexhaustible aspirations and thoughts, etc. First, the generation of bodhicitta that corresponds to the aspiration to attain unsurpassed enlightenment is the sole support or basis for the arising of all the qualities of the Mahayana's intention, intention, higher intention, perfections, and even skillful means, the Dharma of the path and the Dharma of the result, as well as powers and fearlessness, etc. For example, the great earth is like the foundation and support for countless grasses, trees, and crops. Based on this, in addition to the previous bodhicitta, the unchanging good-hearted bodhicitta that benefits sentient beings is like pure gold, which does not change its color or nature even when tested by burning, cutting, and grinding. The bodhicitta that increases the two accumulations by diligently practicing the perfections is like the waxing moon, which grows more and more from the first day of the month. Furthermore, the bodhicitta with higher intention that can bear the burden of benefiting others should be known as being like fire. Just as fire naturally burns and spreads as long as there is firewood, by abiding in the heat of the path of application, one can attain from the peak to the Buddha-ground, and by thinking in this way, one can attain higher qualities. In other treatises, there are also those who compare higher intention to the waxing moon and application to fire. The arising of these four individually is from the initial generation of bodhicitta up to the supreme Dharma. Furthermore, the bodhicitta that possesses the perfection of generosity should be known as being like a great treasure. There are four types of great treasures, such as conch, lotus, and great lotus, and there are also said to be nine types. In short, just as no matter how much food, clothing, and other necessities are taken from a treasure trove with inexhaustible jewels, it will not be depleted, so too, by giving, limitless sentient beings are satisfied with wealth and Dharma, etc., and the generosity of a bodhisattva will never be exhausted, even in the realm of nirvana without remainder. Furthermore, the bodhicitta that possesses the perfection of ethics is like a source or origin of various jewels, from which countless jewels can arise.

Just as things arise, from the mind of enlightenment endowed with the discipline of a Bodhisattva, immeasurable jewels arise, namely all the qualities of the path and fruition of the Great Vehicle, such as the grounds, perfections, directions of enlightenment, powers, and fearlessness. The mind of enlightenment endowed with the perfection of patience should be understood to be like a great ocean. Just as the great ocean, even when stirred by boats, fish, crocodiles, etc., does not become turbid and its depths do not waver, so too the mind of a Bodhisattva endowed with patience cannot be disturbed by any faults such as hardships and harm from others. Furthermore, the mind of enlightenment endowed with the perfection of diligence is like a vajra; just as a vajra jewel cannot be destroyed by fire, water, cutting, grinding, or anything else, so too the mind of enlightenment of a Bodhisattva cannot be destroyed by the weapon of laziness. The mind of enlightenment endowed with the perfection of meditation is like the king of mountains, Mount Meru, which cannot be moved by anything from any of the four directions; similarly, the samadhi of a Bodhisattva cannot be moved by distracting thoughts. The mind of enlightenment endowed with the perfection of wisdom is like the king of herbs or medicine; just as that medicine, merely by being seen, touched, smelled, or tasted, pacifies all diseases arising from bile and phlegm, so too, by listening to, contemplating, and meditating on the perfection of wisdom, all diseases of the obscurations of affliction and knowledge are pacified. Furthermore, the mind of enlightenment endowed with the four immeasurables should be understood to be like a great friend; just as a great friend, in all three times, whether in times of happiness, suffering, or equanimity, is a friend and does not abandon one, so too, compassionately, in times of suffering, one liberates from suffering; lovingly, in times of unhappiness, one abides in happiness; joyfully, one rejoices and is a friend without separating from happiness; and with equanimity, one thinks, "May one not be attached to those who are happy, and may one not be filled with hatred towards those who are suffering," thus, without attachment or hatred, the mind abides in peace. The mind of enlightenment endowed with the five clairvoyances is like a wish-fulfilling jewel from which all desires arise.
