It is like being certain to see the meaning. What brings about liberation is wisdom. What is called the basis The basis of these two is diligence. By initiating diligence, the mind is placed in equanimity and higher vision is cultivated. These three are the practice of accomplishing all kinds of self-benefit. Thus, three that accomplish the benefit of others and three that accomplish self-benefit are established, making six in total. Furthermore, bodhisattvas do not consider their own benefit but mainly practice the benefit of others. Therefore, they accomplish the benefit of others through the six perfections: through generosity, by giving whatever is desired to the poor, thus ensuring that sentient beings do not lack enjoyment; through discipline, by not harming sentient beings; through patience, by not being angry when other sentient beings harm oneself and being able to endure; through diligence, by not being weary of the affairs of others; through meditation, by manifesting hidden things through magical powers, making sentient beings rejoice; and through wisdom, by speaking the sacred Dharma well. Therefore, accomplishing the benefit of others is accomplishing the most supreme self-benefit. Although one cannot attain great enlightenment by merely striving for self-benefit, by striving for the benefit of others, one's own benefit is naturally accomplished temporarily, and ultimately one will attain unsurpassed enlightenment. Therefore, through the six perfections, the two benefits are spontaneously accomplished. Third, all the practices of the Great Vehicle bodhisattvas are included in these six perfections, and the determination of their number is as follows: not being delighted in the enjoyment of the five desirable qualities, whether external or internal objects, that is, not being attached, and not having any attachment to what is not given to others, this is generosity; being extremely respectful of the precepts of discipline, not being defiled by even the slightest misdeed; not being weary of the harm to sentient beings and the practice of austerities, this is patience and diligence. Through patience, one is able to endure all harm from sentient beings and various austerities to the extreme; through diligence, one is not weary of doing the affairs of sentient beings and extremely difficult efforts over a long period of time, and one engages in limitless diligence. Alternatively, merit and wisdom

Not being weary of accumulating the two accumulations is patience and diligence. Because patience abandons unfavorable factors, and diligence engages in remedies. The supreme yoga of single-pointed abiding through meditation and the two of not discriminating against any characteristics through wisdom are calm abiding and insight. If the meaning of all Mahayana is summarized, it is exhausted in these six perfections, and there is nothing that is not included in them. Fourth, from the perspective of the three higher trainings, the path of non-attachment to the objects of the five desirable qualities is generosity, which is to completely give away everything. Wanting to obtain the realm of desirable objects, And in order to prevent the mind from being distracted, the path that is different from the previous one is the perfection of morality. Because it prevents one from engaging in many activities that are distracted by worldly affairs. The path of not abandoning beings even when they commit various wrongdoings and harms is patience. The path of increasing the accumulation of virtue from above is diligence, and finally meditation and wisdom are other paths of purifying obscurations. Meditation mainly purifies afflictive obscurations, and wisdom mainly purifies cognitive obscurations. Or, meditation is the path of suppressing the two obscurations and causing them to subside, and wisdom is the path of uprooting the two obscurations from their roots. Those six paths that are explained in this way, if done from the perspective of the three trainings, are explained as truly as the six perfections of the Buddhas just mentioned. Which six? First, generosity, morality, and patience are the higher training in morality. The path of generosity without attachment is the cause of morality, and the essence is the path of restraint, which is morality itself. The companion is the path of not abandoning beings, which is patience. If one possesses these three, one can truly protect morality. Finally, meditation and wisdom show the two trainings, meditation is the higher training in mind, and wisdom is the higher training in wisdom itself. One diligence is also included in all three trainings, because those five perfections must be cultivated with respectful and constant diligence, so diligence in those perfections is included in whichever of the three trainings it is.
