Eleven. The darkness-possessing pride is a friend to both of them. Therefore, that which is neither nature nor transformation is the puruṣa (སྐྱེས་བུ།, Sanskrit: पुरुष, Roman transliteration: puruṣa, Chinese: person). That which is nature but not transformation is the pradhāna (གཙོ་བོ།). That which is transformation but not nature is the five elements and eleven faculties, totaling sixteen. That which is both nature and transformation is the great pride. Only thatness (དེ་ཙམ།) is five, totaling seven. The pradhāna and puruṣa are permanent. When the transformation of the pradhāna is gathered, and the puruṣa abides freely without being connected to objects, it is called liberation or permanent liberation, the pradhāna refers to the basis of everything, and the puruṣa of wisdom refers to consciousness, the mind that arises from emptiness is only a fabrication, and is closest to this. The transformation of the pradhāna is the enjoyer, that is, enjoying suffering and happiness, etc., and is permanent, becoming the agent of the transformed things, without self-nature, without the qualities of atoms, etc., and without actions such as stretching, contracting, going, and coming, etc., which are conjectured by the heretics. Because it is all-pervasive. Relying on the slight differences of that self-nature, the Vaiseṣika school among the heretics acknowledges nine qualities of self-nature such as happiness, etc., and has stretching, contracting, etc., although the bodies are different, they believe that the self-nature is the same, and such doctrines become different. Second, refuting the possibility of such a permanent and real self-nature, and refuting the lack of difference from the aggregates. First, generally explaining the reasoning of refutation, and explaining that it can destroy all different schools that claim permanent and real self-nature. First, the self-nature of the heretical doctrine is the subject of dharma. For example, like the son of a barren woman, because it is separated from birth. Such an unborn self-nature does not exist. This unborn self-nature is also not reasonable to be the basis of the innate ego-grasping of the world. This If speaking of ultimate truth, not only is it not reasonable to be the basis of ego-grasping, but it is not even reasonable to be the basis of conventionality. Because the unborn has never existed like the son of a barren woman. Just like being unborn from the beginning. For it, there will never be a time of existence. The unborn cannot be established as existence in any way. Second, because of the differences in the doctrines of the Vaiseṣika school, etc., which are slightly different from the teachings of the Samkhya school, regarding the differences of self-nature. The heretics

Regarding all that you have declared, it is harmed by the reason that "fame has not arisen in the heretics themselves," therefore, since that basis does not exist, all the distinctions of that self also do not exist. Second, refuting the absence of otherness from the aggregates: Because of that reason, there is no self other than the aggregates. If that self were established somewhere other than the aggregates, how could it be established without relying on the aggregates to be able to grasp the self, but grasping would never be established? Such an unborn self, different from the aggregates, is also not accepted as the basis of the ego-grasping mind of worldly people, because the analyzed self, that is, the self that has become different from the aggregates, knowing or grasping such a state is not the self. If that is the basis of ego-grasping, then it is possible to reason and know the unborn self that is different from the aggregates, and to generate ego-grasping by focusing on it. That is not possible, because there is no self with such characteristics, and unborn and so on are all conceptually constructed. Therefore, without focusing on the conceptually constructed self, one focuses only on the "I" of the innate ego-grasping, and not on such a thing, because without an object, there will be no subject. Therefore, the object of the way of grasping of the basis of innate ego-grasping is only the "I" that has been accustomed to from beginningless time without analysis, and it is clear that it is not distinguished by unborn and so on. Those who do not have the habit of familiarizing themselves with previous scriptures, and who have repeatedly been born as animals, spending many eons, even the very foolish have not seen such an unborn, permanent, self-natured self, and they also see that they also cling to those ego-grasps, therefore, there is no self that is different from the aggregates. Second, refuting the view that the self is the same entity as the aggregates, divided into two parts: the preliminary statement and the refutation. The first part is: As the Blessed One said, "O monks, any śrāmaṇa or brahmin who correctly observes 'self' only correctly observes these five aggregates of appropriation." Therefore, some of the highly revered place the five aggregates as the object of the view of self. Also, some of the highly revered say, "Oneself is one's own protector, who else can become a protector?"
