Now, if the present self becomes annihilated because the past self is destroyed, then the actions performed by the self who is the agent will be wasted, and after the past self dies, the newly born self will experience the actions performed by others separately, which is unreasonable and will lead to many faults. Furthermore, if the nature of the two selves, past and present, is different, then it should newly arise from something that has never appeared before, but I am not newly arising here from something that has never appeared before. If that were the case, it would lead to faults. How would it be? If it depends on the previous cause, I will become newly created, and if that is the case, it will become impermanent, like a vase. If you think that I am newly created, then the self without the difference between past and present time must be the same in essence as the newly born self of this life. If that is the case, just as the present self did not appear in the past, the self itself is the same as it. Therefore, the same kind of self has never appeared before, so there is a beginning, and it will lead to the new appearance of beings that have never existed before. From something that has not appeared, it arises without cause or without dependence, which will also become a fault and causeless because of the word "also". If the same kind of self has never appeared before and is newly emerging, it will become causeless. Or, it will become that I am created, or I become causeless, or I do not admit that the past has not appeared. Therefore, the past self has appeared, the past self has not appeared, both have and neither have, depending on the past time, these views are unreasonable. Second, refuting the four views of arising, etc., which depend on the later extreme: For the future time, whether it will appear or will not appear, both have and neither have, these views are the same as the analysis of the past time. In the future time, I say "I will appear", these can be understood by changing the words. Third, refuting the four views of permanence, etc., which depend on the former extreme: If the human realm is reborn into the heavenly realm through virtuous deeds, if that god is that person, then that existence will become permanent, which is unreasonable. The god is not unborn

And it will still change, because the reason for permanence does not arise. If a god becomes another human, then the former will perish and the latter will be born as impermanent. If the god and the human are different, then it is not reasonable that the continuum is one continuum, like a mango tree and the fruit of a neem tree. If, from the perspective of life or self, the god and the human are two in one, and the bodies are different, as desired, if one part is a god and one part is a human, then it becomes both permanent and impermanent, so that is not reasonable in any way. If both permanent and impermanent are established, then it will become established as non-permanent and non-impermanent, which depends on the will. If the two to be negated, permanent and impermanent, are not established at all in the nature of the self, then neither is non-duality. Here, if the existence of both permanent and impermanent on one basis is established as different entities, then it is two, and if it is established as non-different entities, then it is non-two, but if one can see that some permanent is impermanent and some impermanent is permanent, even so, those two are not on one like light and darkness, because wherever one sees, one says there is another. If samsara has been wandering continuously through birth and death from beginningless time, and there are still objects of wandering and change, so one thinks there is a permanent wanderer, that is the self, if one thinks like that, if the self or aggregates, from where did it come here before, and what will it go to where, if it exists by its own nature, then therefore it is beginningless, even if samsara becomes beginningless and permanent, but that kind of thing does not exist, because the self or aggregates, permanent or impermanent, established by their own nature, going and coming is unreasonable, as has been said in the sixteenth chapter and so on. Therefore, the statement that samsara is beginningless is also merely conceptual imputation. In the manner described above, if there is no permanent samsaric being, then what is the impermanence of samsara that revolves without beginning or end? Because beginningless and endless is not a single moment, and impermanence is a single moment, how can it be reasonable for it to be the agent of abandoning and taking previous and subsequent lives? It is not reasonable. Or, if there are no permanent things at all, then what is the impermanence that perishes?
