Three explanations on what should and should not be done. First, from the time after half of the earth's own sunset until dawn has not appeared, for dawn, there are three types: blue dawn, yellow dawn, and red dawn. Taking the degree without yellow dawn, before that, the Buddha said that it is not the time to eat food. Therefore, a person holding vows should not eat at the non-time, and should not eat. Second, other than the non-time, from the appearance of dawn until half of the earth's own sunrise, that is, eating before half has passed, that is, eating, know that it is beneficial to oneself and is the cause of being able to keep vows, it is eating at the time of eating food. Third, for the time of not eating food, if one thinks it is the time of eating food, then one should never eat. If a doctor says to a patient, etc., if you do not eat food, you will not be able to survive or will become miserable, so eat something, then the patient will not be at fault even if they eat. In addition, when traveling about one yojana on the road, and in times of famine and distress, it is allowed to eat whenever food is found. Third, regarding accepting and abandoning gold and silver, there are three types: the actual object, the method of making it permissible, and the permissible object. First, sāle-sbram, if melted and hammered, is gold itself. What is called silver is silver itself, and the word 'itself' is to exclude similarities. If the patrons give those, the ascetic should not accept them, that is, not accept them. Touching lead and tin, etc., will be a misdeed. Second, if one becomes poor, such as having no clothes, etc., if the patrons give gold and silver, I (referring to the monk) think that this is not something I can hold, therefore, if there are no clothes, look for clothes, if life is cut off, look for food, if sick, look for medicine, that is, look for suitable items. After thinking in this way clearly, that is, definitely, then have a layperson or other patron accept it. Third, with the intention of building Buddha statues, writing scriptures, and offering to the Sangha, with the wealth of the Three Jewels or brotherhood, and for the sake of the Khenpo and Acharya who practice like Brahma, even if I, the ascetic, touch gold and silver, there will be no fault or downfall. Therefore, what is offered to me is also for offering to the Three Jewels and the Khenpo and Acharya.

If taken with greed, it will not constitute a sin. For the sake of the Three Jewels and for performing virtuous deeds, even if it is necessary to engage in commercial profit, one should not do it oneself, but should entrust it to other lay practitioners. Fourth, regarding the explanation of other aspects of abandoning and adopting: one is abandoning sinful views, etc., of one's own mindstream, and the other is respecting others, etc. The first aspect is: like the disciple of Nanda, the ascetic with thorns, and the two of offering and giving, whichever novice says, "The Complete Perfect Buddha said that enjoying the five desires obstructs the attainment of heaven and liberation, but I do not think it obstructs, because I understand its meaning." To such a person, one should admonish with gentle words, and if admonishment is ineffective, then through the four karmas (กรรม, a Buddhist term referring to the procedures for handling affairs in the Sangha), one should inform the novice not to speak such foolish nonsense. Even if such admonishment is still not heeded and they continue to speak nonsense, then one should deprive them of the possessions and livelihood belonging to the Sangha, and then expel them from the monastery. After that, that ascetic is not allowed to spend the night in the same room with other ascetics, because they are not the same as those who practice celibacy in conduct, possessions, and views, and therefore they will become like a corpse. Furthermore, just as a corpse has no merit, so too, they are like a corpse because they have lost the aspect of virtue. The nature of a renunciate is to be tamed and peaceful, therefore one should not indulge in base behaviors such as jumping and running with the body, etc., nor should one be frivolous because the mind is not focused on virtuous aspects, and one should not make laughter like the neighing of a horse, etc. One should think that oneself is impermanent and will die, and should not be distracted. If yawning and hiccuping occur, one should also carefully cover the mouth with one's hand or clothing, etc., because it is neither beautiful nor dignified. The second aspect is: for those senior in precepts and wisdom compared to oneself, when they yawn, one should fold one's palms and say "I prostrate," for those younger in precepts than oneself, when they yawn, one should say "May you be free from illness," for lay practitioners yawning, one should say "May you live long," furthermore, in the presence of teachers such as Khenpos and Acharyas who are superior in qualities, and in places where stupas, etc., reside or are located, one should not spit out snot,
