With strong renunciation and aversion, abandon all worldly affairs of this life. Do not allow yourself a moment of leisure, but with diligence like the burning fire at the end of an eon, dedicate your body, speech, and mind to the sacred Dharma, striving day and night like turning a wheel of fire. This is the third point. Although death is certain, it is the great path for all. If you think there is nothing to fear in death, and that after death there is no need to take rebirth, and consciousness dissolves into nothingness, then that would be the end of it. But in reality, it does not dissolve into nothingness, and one must definitely take rebirth. For example, sweet seeds ripen into different fruits. Similarly, the causes of virtuous and non-virtuous actions ripen into different results of happiness and suffering, which each must experience personally. As it is said in the Sutras: "The actions of sentient beings will not be lost even after hundreds of eons. When the conditions gather and the time arrives, they will ripen into their respective fruits." Therefore, it is very important for those who desire liberation to not make mistakes in accepting virtue and rejecting evil. The reason for this is: if you do not do good yourself, you have no power to obtain it; once you have done evil, you have no power to abandon it. After death, the two actions of virtue and evil will follow you, and at this crucial moment of distinguishing between going up or going down, practice and intention must not be reversed. All virtuous actions must be done from the smallest beginnings. For example, just as drops of water gradually fill a vase from the first to the last. Similarly, the initial mind is the cause of enlightenment, and gradually accumulating, one eventually becomes a fully enlightened Buddha. Therefore, one should rely on it like taking the medicine of resurrection. As it is said in the Compendium: "Just as drops of water gradually fill a vase from the first to the last, in the same way, the initial mind is the cause of enlightenment, and gradually accumulating, one eventually becomes a fully enlightened Buddha." All non-virtuous actions must be abandoned from a young age. The reason for this is, for example, even a small spark of fire, when it encounters the condition of wind, can destroy a pile of grass as large as Mount Sumeru in an instant. Similarly, all the virtuous actions that are conducive to merit are destroyed in an instant by a single burst of strong anger. As it is said in the Bodhicharyavatara: "The merit accumulated over a thousand eons, such as generosity and offerings to the Sugatas, all those virtuous deeds, are destroyed by a single act of anger." Therefore,
