Moreover, one's own mind arises in various ways, not just one or nine. Observe where these thoughts initially arise from, where they currently reside, and where they ultimately go and cease. Furthermore, examine whether the observer, the object to be sought, and the seeker are one or separate. Without wavering even for a moment, observe with a direct and single-pointed focus. As a result, nothing is seen. In that state of finding nothing, without identifying any place to fixate or analyze, when clear, naked awareness dawns like the sky, relax and rest loosely in that natural state. If thoughts suddenly arise, observe them with the same direct and single-pointed focus as before. Second, the method of settling into the natural state is: Abandon all activities of body, speech, and mind, such as physical movements, verbal expressions, and mental thoughts. Without moving, speaking, or thinking, relax and settle down, remaining naturally as still as a waterless millstone. Third, the key instruction for viewing without attachment is: Having gained various experiences in the preliminary stages, this is the introduction to the wisdom of awareness. Arrange the gathering and torma offerings, offer prayers, and recite the lineage. Then, instruct the disciples to straighten their bodies, settle their prana and mind in space, and introduce them in a relaxed manner. Furthermore, relying on the life-force of instructions such as the essence of clear light of the bindu or the meaning of naturally abiding, the experienced lama bestows the introduction according to the disciple's experiential stages. Fourth, the key instruction for the fruit of no abandonment and no attainment is: The fruit of practicing and realizing in this way is that, being free from thoughts and elaborations, one attains the meaning that all phenomena are empty and selfless. These are the general teachings, that is, the four aspects of view, meditation, conduct, and result of Dzogchen in general. In detail, each of these is taught in four aspects: by whom, what, how, and what is attained. In particular, for the nature of reality itself, in order to ascertain the specific differences of the view, meditation, conduct, and result of this key instruction, at this very moment, the key instruction of the four lamps briefly explains each in four aspects, and indicates that these will be gradually realized later. Thus, the key instructions of the four lamps are: the lamp of condensed conduct, the lamp of condensed meditation, the lamp of condensed view, and the lamp of condensed result. These are

The instructions for settling the mind are complete. Next are the instructions for settling wisdom: The lama faces east, and the students stand with their palms joined at their hearts, then they are told to sit. The lama also stands and, with a threatening gesture, dispels obstacles and offers a torma to the assembly of dakinis. Visualize a blue Hum (ཧཱུྃ,Hum,हूं,摧伏) on the crown of the students' heads, and through the network of channels, the entire body transforms into Hum. Similarly, visualize a green Yam (ཡཾ,Yam,यं,wind) at the soles of the feet, a reddish-green Ram (རཾ,Ram,रं,fire) at the navel, a smoky Kham (ཁཾ,Kham,खं,space) at the throat, a blue E (ཨེ,E,ऐ,freedom) at the forehead, a yellow Sum (སུཾ,Sum,सुं,collection) at the nape of the neck, a white Ha (ཧ,Ha,ह,great bliss) on the right knee, and a dark blue Phat (ཕཊ,Phat,फट्,cut) at the soles of the feet, thus contemplating the eight syllables. Each syllable is recited twenty-one times with each breath, to protect. Having protected in this way with the eight syllables, as a preliminary to wisdom, one should engage in discriminating conduct: In a secluded place, abandon all daytime activities and sit quietly. Then, offer food and flower tormas to the dakinis, and pray that there be no obstacles to practice. Then, the practice of the body, such as walking, sitting, running, and dancing, all the movements of the six types of physical activity that can be remembered; and the various confused speech of the six types, such as "Ah tsa," "Ah chu," "Gyob sod," "E," and "E bru;" and all the remembered discursive thoughts of the worldly mind. Each of the three actions (body, speech, and mind) of the six types is mixed in a threefold manner, and one strives continuously day and night. At the end of each, there are various postures of deities, various sounds of mantras, and the mind contemplating deities, etc., all sorts of past actions, until each reaches its respective measure. Then, the two higher empowerments are separated by time and given separately. Here, a very simple empowerment is given to settle them, and the symbolic instructions are shown. Then it is said that an extremely simple empowerment is given. At this time, the very simple and extremely simple empowerments are combined and given, and then, as before, the settling of the three doors is shown. Then, to grasp the key points of the body, three postures are shown: First, it is important to establish the basis with the posture of the enjoyment body, which is the posture of an elephant sitting.
