Various phenomena arising from deluded karma, Are like appearances in a dream. For example, the empty and clear sky has no need, yet it reveals various shapes and colors. Similarly, the nature of mind is free from elaboration, but due to clinging to the truth of various conceptual appearances of elaboration, it grasps at colors, shapes, before and after, etc. However, upon investigation and analysis, nothing is seen anywhere, and nothing is established, hence it is emptiness. Because there is nothing to grasp, it is free from elaboration. Abiding in the nature of all phenomena, it is primordial. Not stained by the impurities of the intellect, it is primordially pure. Not bound by the attachment to experience, it is originally liberated. Because it is free from all extremes of arising, ceasing, abiding, focus, going, coming, thoughts, and elaborations, it is called the Great Perfection. Thus: In the beginning, the mind has no origin, The vast expanse beyond extremes is the Dharmakaya. In the middle, the mind has no abiding place, Clear emptiness, without grasping, is the Sambhogakaya. In the end, the mind has no destination, Compassion pervading all is the Nirmanakaya. This wisdom body, inseparable from the three kayas, Is spontaneously accomplished, without effort or fabrication. In the primordial ground of spontaneous accomplishment, Engage in the activity of realizing the unborn. As it is said, so it should be recognized. The second general point is relying on the uncontaminated stream of wisdom, divided into: Settling into the natural state and liberation in its own place, Seizing the essential points of direct perception. Therefore, the two paths of Trekchö (Tibetan: ཁྲེགས་ཆོད་), which reveals the nature of original purity as free from elaboration, and Tögal (Tibetan: ཐོད་རྒལ་), which directly reveals the spontaneously accomplished wisdom. First, settling into the natural state, returning to its original place, and liberation in its own nature. First is: Having distinguished samsara from nirvana, Settle the three doors of body, speech, and mind into their natural state. As it is said, "natural" is the name for unconditioned, and "settling" is placing it on the original ground. Among these, what is to be abandoned are the conceptual thoughts of samsara, and whatever thoughts of virtue arise as an antidote, whatever appearance manifests, by entrusting awareness to the manifested thought and meditating on it, the thought will transform and become non-thought. Just as muddy water, if left undisturbed, will become clear. Therefore, by gradually gathering the previously mentioned coarse and subtle objects of focus, the sense consciousness is bound without wavering. By this, the mind consciousness gathers the six consciousnesses into one, and the mind that wanders to other objects is pacified, thereby connecting with the unconditioned dharma, and the support for focusing on the six objects is also the mind.

Without making any acceptance or rejection, one should leave any characteristics of antidotes in a state of naturalness, free from conceptualization. That is, the body should be in a lotus position, relaxed and at ease; speech should be free from words, and the flow of breath should also remain natural; the mind should not be tainted by any conceptualizations of acceptance or rejection, but should be left in its natural state, whatever arises. In this way, the wisdom of awareness will naturally and clearly dawn. When the three doors are settled in their natural state, the samadhi that abides in its own nature will dawn on awareness. Secondly: The views of the Hearer, Bodhisattva, and Wrathful One, are also settled in their own way by these three views. As it is said, the view of the Hearer is that the body remains unmoving in the seven-point posture; speech is silent, so the movement of breath naturally slows down; the eyes are fixed on the space in front of the tip of the nose; and the awareness of the six senses, whatever arises, is left as it is, without acceptance or rejection. In this way, the nature of appearances becomes clear, but one does not lose the state of non-conceptual awareness, and one should gradually train in this. As it is said, the Hearer's peaceful view, causes body, speech, and mind to abide. As it is said. The view of the Bodhisattva is that the key points of body and speech are as before, but the eyes are turned from gazing at the space in front of the nose to gazing intently at the space, and by looking intently, the momentary awareness that arises from that circumstance is also clear and unceasing, and although it arises, it is only an appearance, and its nature is not real, but is understood to be like an illusion or a reflection of the moon in water. As it is said, the Bodhisattva's view, causes one to abide and realize for a long time. As it is said. The view of the Wrathful One is that one rises from the previous state of samadhi without losing it, and walks unsteadily, squinting the eyes and looking, uttering sounds such as haha hihi, and exerting awareness and practicing diligently. In this way, one should train in the self-arisen, self-appearing, free from elaboration, without rejection or acceptance, like waves inseparable from the ocean. The more appearances arise, the more the wisdom of emptiness will increase, just as the more firewood there is, the brighter the flame will be. The Wrathful One's own view, causes the stable (grasping) to be liberated. As it is said. The third is the key to self-liberation: Since self-awareness and thoughts are all liberated, it possesses four great liberations. Since it is liberated from the beginning, there is no need to repair it. Since it is self-liberated, there is no need for antidotes. Since it is nakedly liberated, it vanishes in the place of seeing. Since it is completely liberated, there is no effort. As it is said, therefore, when practicing, the outer is outer appearances, the inner is awareness.
