Bhyah! Then, abandoning ordinary discursive thoughts, meditate again and again as before. When that is stable, there are signs that ordinary discursive thoughts and sensory consciousness are about to turn inward, such as mirages appearing. At that time, from the form of the bindu, other external appearances cease. This itself becomes a habit. It is said. First, precede with the practice of preliminaries and the generation stage. It is very important to bind the body posture without moving on a comfortable seat. The reason for this is: the body is like a city, the channels are like streets, the wind is like a horse, and consciousness is like a person. Binding the actions is like closing the city gate, so that the person and the horse enter inside and cannot go out. Also, by sitting in the lotus position, the downward-clearing wind is bound, staying in the secret place. The two hands form the vajra fist, the thumb presses the root of the ring finger, placed on the soles of the two feet, and the arms are straightened. The waist is slightly bent, and the abdomen is pushed outward, binding the fire-equalizing wind that is in the navel. The upper body is straightened, without bending, binding the life-sustaining wind that is in the heart. The neck is slightly bent, and the Adam's apple slightly presses the throat, binding the upward-moving wind that is in the throat. Straighten the spine and the back of the neck, and straighten the head without tilting, so that each part of the body is tightly bound, binding the pervasive wind that is at the end of the skin. Like that, by grasping the five root winds, the five branch winds are also naturally bound. The lips are placed naturally, and the tongue touches the upper palate, so virtues such as not being thirsty appear. The gaze of the eyes, the eyeballs do not move, the eyelids do not blink, and they are kept wide open without moving. It is said that in order to eliminate the fault of the wind, mind, and bindu flowing downwards, it is good to have a high gaze. The key point of the mind is to clearly visualize oneself as the body of the Great Compassionate One in an instant, with the three channels and four wheels in the center of the body. Or, the three channels are clearly visualized as before, and then, three times slowly exhale the stale air from the nostrils. Inhale the very gentle upper wind, allowing it to enter naturally. At that time, visualize that in the right Roma channel, Raja Ha Dust) and in the left Kyangma channel, Shukra Semen) both rotate upwards, reaching the top of the two channels. Gently guide the downward wind, and rainbows also appear from the path of dhūti.

When the wind, shining like stars, arises and reaches four fingers below the navel, all three together pass through the central channel of the dhūti and reach the navel chakra. There, a perfectly round bindu, red and white, clear and radiant, the size of a chickpea, appears. In the center of this bindu, visualize your own mind as the indestructible essence, manifesting as a tiny, blazing red Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: shame) syllable. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Focus the mind on the object, do not let its continuity be distracted." Like this, cut off all the elaborations of discursive thoughts and focus the awareness single-pointedly on the bright and clear bindu. The key to speech is to maintain the natural flow of breath; this is the practice. Furthermore, abandon the elaborations of the three times—past, present, and future—as well as hope, fear, faults, virtues, negation, affirmation, acceptance, rejection, analysis, meditation, and all other mental discriminations and judgments. Rest the mind on the clear and bright bindu, neither distracted nor lax. As it says in the All-Creating King: "This unborn mind, like the sky, rest in a state of no birth and no cessation." And as it says in the Quintessence of Reality: "Like a lamp flame unmoved by the wind, rest in clarity without thought, without distraction." Like this, this is the first point of meditation. In this state, if discursive thoughts suddenly arise and the appearance of objects suddenly manifests, immediately recognize it. Do not engage in any thinking or judgment about it, but completely cut it off. Then, gather the awareness completely and focus without fabrication or distraction on the bindu. As it says in the Vajrasattva Heart Practice: "For a moment, rest the mind, gather it completely, without fabrication, without adulteration, without change, like the pure sky, rest in a state of non-thought, without beginning or end." Like this, this is the second point of meditation. If you gather too tightly, causing the awareness to scatter and become agitated, then Omniscient Dharma Lord (Kunchen Chökyi) said: "Like loosening a rope to rest, relax the body and mind, think of nothing, abandon all thoughts." Like this, with undistracted mindfulness and awareness, relax naturally; this is the third point of meditation. In short, do not regard the bright red bindu and the clear, radiant awareness as two separate things. Instead, relax and rest without fabrication or distraction in a state of non-dual clarity and non-thought. This is the most crucial point. As Shawaripa said: "Like a garuda, rest without gathering or scattering, like water, do not stir it, let it be naturally clear, like...
