The meaning of, and the four meanings stated as "the ultimate meaning of mantra" are determined, thereby understanding the true nature of mantra. The true nature of the wind as an object, that is, the true nature of mantra with characteristics, is practiced in the same way, because this is the true nature of recitation. Therefore, the truth of wind and mantra become the object of understanding, and the practice must be applied to the true nature of recitation, which is precisely the practice of Vajra recitation. Among them, the so-called Vajra recitation, Vajra refers to the inseparability of wind, mind, and mantra. Recitation is to recite the three states of wind's movement, dwelling, and return as the nature of the three syllables (ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ,ōng ā hūṃ). The basis or object on which recitation relies is the ten winds. Although it is also said that recitation is performed from each of the main acting places, such as the throat of the upward-moving wind, in this case, no matter which of the ten winds is used for Vajra recitation, it must be performed from the heart chakra, because the key point of the ten root channels of the heart chakra, which is the basis of the ten winds. Among them, the doors through which the wind enters are the two nostrils and the mouth, that is, the three upper doors, and the three lower paths combined into four. However, here, the wind of the nostrils is considered the main factor of life, so Vajra recitation should be performed from here, and the life force should be controlled. This is stated in the Hevajra Tantra: "The recitation used on the path, when entering, dwelling, and rising, by fully practicing the six limbs, Vajra recitation can be used on the path." The six limbs mentioned are the same in meaning as the six yogas mentioned from other aspects. That is, from the perspective of the yoga of wind alone, as stated in the common treatises, the Abhidharmakosha's autocommentary says: "Counting, following, and dwelling, as well as thinking and transforming, complete purification is considered as six." Although these occurrences are not Vajra recitation, they share the same names as the six yogas of Vajra recitation, and their natures are also mostly the same. Among them, counting means counting without error, that is, counting from one to ten with one breath as one. At this time, due to mental distraction, mistakenly counting the fourth as the fifth or third, etc., resulting in too many or too few numbers, no matter which situation occurs, then...

Having abandoned it, start again. When you can count flawlessly from one to ten like that. Again, count backwards from ten to one. When you can flawlessly count one ten forwards and backwards, then learn two tens, etc. If you can count up to a thousand, you will achieve tranquility. This is what the great translator Yeshe De said. Following refers to breathing, knowing that not only wind, but also the other three elements follow. Abiding refers to when the wind is in the body, from the nostrils to the soles of the feet, it abides in a lump like a string of jewels, and the mind focuses on this. Discerning is thinking about the benefits and harms of the wind's actions. Transforming is transforming the mind focused on the wind into non-discrimination, and the mind abides in this. Completely purifying is that after practicing this, wisdom that transcends the world arises, and the paths of seeing and cultivation are abandoned. Here, mantra yogis practice in a similar way, which are the six yogas of Vajra recitation. As it is said in the "Vajra Garland": "The measure of breath is counting, The form of wind is observed, The division of abiding is the channels, The division of time is discernment, The reversal of all winds, And discernment and all abandonment, Thus briefly, there are six kinds, Arising and inhaling are thus said." First, by determining the way of movement, the mind focuses on counting until it can count all twenty-one thousand six hundred numbers. This is the yoga of counting. Second, observation, which is following, refers to running two thousand seven hundred times in each of the eight periods, and knowing that with each wind movement, the other four elements also follow. This is a clear form. Third, abiding, which is the yoga of abiding, refers to the movement of inhaling and exhaling wind, knowing that this is moving from this and that chakra. The mind focuses on the state of being lumped together from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet. Fourth, the yoga of discernment is that the twenty winds of the five elements of the four chakras transform the one hundred and eight winds of discernment, and also use the left and right mandalas, the sum of ten, to transform the characteristics of the wind.
