If there is dullness and agitation, leave the dull gaze in its natural state. The mind should also descend, and awareness should be relaxed. Consume nutritious and slightly more food. Sit in a low or warm place. If there is dullness, focus the gaze. Exert effort on awareness, strive to elevate the mind, and look at the sky. Consume cool and small amounts of food, and stay in a high and cool open space. Sitting in a white place can eliminate (dullness). In general, for agitation, contemplate the impermanence of death and the suffering of samsara, generate renunciation, and repeatedly think that nothing is truly needed. For pleasant objects of focus such as painted Buddha images, concentrate the mind for a short while, then without looking at it, relax awareness, which can eliminate (agitation). For dullness, recall the many wonderful biographies of great accomplished masters, and generate joy. Focus on each part of the deity's form one by one, and meditate by repeatedly moving the object of focus, which will surely eliminate (dullness). If there is neither dullness nor agitation, do not make any adjustments, and maintain the natural state. Also, if the state is good in the morning or at the beginning, but bad in the afternoon or at the end, like a pond with depleted water, it is because the body cannot bear it. Nourish the body, relax, and then meditate. If the state is bad in the morning or at the beginning, but good in the afternoon or at the end, like a canal that cannot draw water, it is because the effort is insufficient, move the mind away from the corner of the eye, and place awareness in the center to meditate. These points should also be understood in the following content. By striving in this way, the five experiences of wavering, attainment, habituation, stability, and finality, as well as the inner and outer secret heat signs, should also be introduced in the order of their appearance, and guided into practice. The second is the guidance on mantra recitation, which is divided into three: coarse wind recitation, subtle vajra recitation, and if you are tired of these, learn oral recitation. The first is: The second is the wisdom heart-life, meditate (Tibetan: ཏིང་འཛིན་,Sanskrit Devanagari: समाधि,Sanskrit Romanization: samādhi, Literal Chinese meaning: Samadhi) on the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं,Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ) syllable, hold it without distraction, form hand mudras binding the breath, and recite with the mind. As it is said, the body posture is as before, the legs are in vajra posture or any comfortable posture, the hands are in meditation mudra or the arms are straightened, with fists resting on the thighs, whichever is comfortable. Visualize yourself as the deity, in the heart center surrounded by five-colored light, on a moon disc resides the wisdom being identical to yourself. In its heart, visualize a white five-pronged vajra, and in the center of the vajra, a white, clear, and blazing Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं,Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ) syllable is burning. Once it is clearly established like this, focus the mind on it with single-pointed concentration.

Then, eliminate the three slow and prolonged impure airs. After that, gently and moderately inhale the upper air and press it below the navel. Also, slightly contract the lower air, gently binding the upper and lower airs together, and recite the mantra "Om Vajrasattva Ah (藏文:ༀ་བཛྲ་སཏྭ་ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:ओँ वज्रसत्त्व आः,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ vajrasattva āḥ,汉语字面意思:Om, Vajrasattva, Ah)". In this way, hold the breath without any discomfort, until you feel a slight discomfort. From the two nostrils, initially only to the extent that the hairs do not move, gradually increase the force in the middle, and finally exhale vigorously. The second is: Familiarize yourself with the three aspects of entering, abiding, and exiting; combine the sounds of Om, Ah, and Hum Om, Ah, Hum) with the mind; perform the recitation of the unborn Vajra. That is, through knowing that the three states of entering, abiding, and exiting of the breath correspond to the sounds of the three syllables Om, Ah, and Hum, and that the three, breath, mantra, and emptiness, are inseparable. The practical method is: Keep the body posture as before. First, briefly focus on the clear appearance of the deity's form. After exhaling the impure air, focus your mind without distraction on the natural entering, abiding, and exiting of the breath. When the breath enters, visualize the sound of Om; when the breath abides, visualize the sound of Ah; when the breath exits, visualize the sound of Hum. Recite without any distraction for even a moment. If the breath stagnates after entering, or if it stagnates, eliminate it by methods such as using the fragrance of incense. When you have gained experience with this, you can proceed on the basis of the fourfold union of Vajra recitation with vase breathing. When exhaling the impure air and holding the breath slightly after exhaling, tighten the lower gate and slightly draw up the downward-moving air. Visualize the upper air as the sound of Om, inhale slowly and press it down towards the navel. Draw up the lower air, bind it with the upper air, and while holding it, visualize the sound of Ah during the abiding phase. If you feel slightly uncomfortable, take small breaths and press and pull. If you cannot bear it, focus your mind on the sound of Hum and exhale slowly with a subtle and prolonged force. In this way, strive until you have accomplished any of the three vase breathings, large, medium, or small. The third is: Through this, one can engage in mantra recitation when weary, including expanding and contracting the rosary. Undistracted verbal recitation should have a limit of time or number. That is, if you feel weary from breath recitation, you can enter into gross recitation. Wisdom mind
