This Dharma, which is extremely difficult to find, with the chariot of profound path instructions, leads fortunate and pure ones to the place of the four bodies, I will explain the method of guidance, a clear illumination. Here, it is the essence of all Sutras and Tantras, the source of all supreme and common accomplishments, the supreme path traveled by all Buddhas of the three times, the entrance for all who desire liberation, the swift path to enlightenment in this very life. The profound path of the two stages of the Heart Practice of Vajrasattva swiftly and easily leads fortunate students to the state of Buddhahood, and has three parts: preliminaries, main practice, and concluding stages. The first also has two parts: the preliminary for entering a session, and the preliminary for making the vessel suitable for the path. The first is: In a secluded place, on a comfortable seat, straighten the body and relax the mind. Visualize that all sins and obscurations are purified by exhaling three times.

Taking refuge in earth and stones. This is the guidance for generating the root of the Great Vehicle, the mind of enlightenment. First, if it is a new guidance, explain in detail the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, the impermanence of life, the ripening of karmic results, and the faults of samsara, until a genuine experience arises in the mind. Here, assuming that these topics are already familiar, we will briefly summarize these objectives in a suggestive manner: repeatedly contemplate the difficulty of obtaining a precious human body, which, once obtained, is endowed with great meaning. Now is the time to obtain this human body, so one must practice the sacred Dharma, which leads to lasting happiness. Moreover, this life is like a flash of lightning in the sky, and one does not know when one will die, so do not postpone Dharma practice, but begin practicing now. At the time of death, food, wealth, enjoyment, enemies, friends, dwelling, body, power, etc., will not follow, and there will be no benefit or harm whatsoever. Whether victory or defeat, happiness or suffering occurs, there is no need to consider these things. The two karmas of good and evil follow like the shadow of the body, even after death. It is impossible to abandon the sins that have already been committed. It is impossible to take away the virtues that one has not personally created. Due to the power of karma, no matter where one is born in samsara, high or low, one cannot escape the wheel of suffering. Therefore, there is no happiness. What will happen if one is born in the three lower realms? There is no certainty of not falling into the lower realms. From now on, even if one's life is at stake, one will not commit evil deeds. One must diligently practice virtue. If one is born in a happy realm due to contaminated virtue, even if there is some temporary happiness, it is like a good dream in a drowsy sleep, which will change and disappear. All the victories and defeats, happiness and suffering in samsara alternate, and nothing is permanent. Therefore, no matter how good the happiness and prosperity of samsara may be, they are meaningless. Therefore, everything done other than the sacred Dharma is meaningless and cannot escape the wheel of suffering. Think about this again and again from the depths of your heart and bones, and it is important to put it into practice. Second, the refuge that saves all sentient beings from the terrifying suffering of samsara, which is like a pit of fire, is the infallible refuge, the rare and precious Three Jewels.
